So I just made a PSF2 set from Haunting Ground. This game has dynamic tracks. The music will get faster as the enemy gets closer to you and slower has its far from you. The music will also play a new arrangement with the same instrument of that track depending on the scene.
So my problem is that 2 of the track are playing their 2 arrangements at the same time.
After taking a quick look at SlyHunter, my best guess is that perhaps the driver dynamically adjusts the tempo (see the -t option in PSF2Kit, or "tempo" in VGMToolbox's mkpsf2 front end).
Regarding the extra instrument that begins around 0:23 in the video but plays at all times in the PSF2, you may want to try adjusting the volumes of the different instruments in the .HD file. I don't have the .HD format spec handy at this time, but I'm sure the details of which part of the file control the volume of a sample are in there.
Your best bet here is probably going to be to create two or more versions of the track. One with the slow tempo without the additional instrument and one or more with increased tempo and volume changes for the additional instrument.
BTW, I had to rebuild the PSF2 to make it work, not sure if it is my system or not.
Okay. I'm not worried about the pitch. I didn't even know you could turn the volume of instruments down. But what if they use that same single instrument? Will it turn them all down if it uses 1 instrument? ... It's hard to explain.
I'm not sure, it's been a long time since I looked at that. I suggest finding the PS2 dev kit documentation and looking into the HD/BD file format specs.
ok I see command lines I can use but nothing about HDs and BDs spec. I dont even think the command lines work because I tried putting the reverb to 0 countless times and it wouldn't turn off. I re-read both the CSL-Howto.txt and PSF2kit.txt.
Also ran into you web page searching for them. Its pretty nice.
