In-Game Cutscenes & Movies by wolupgm6 at 8:53 PM EDT on October 20, 2013

Thought I'd share with you this. I'm still working on it at the moment (as you can tell by the small amount of uploads).
My goal here is to collect as many of the non-player moments from games. This includes pre-rendered FMV, in-game movies and anything that'd fit under that category. I'll also be trying to do these in the best quality I can, often higher than the original console could output.
I've got quite a lot to get through at the moment from all generations of consoles, so I'm interested to know what you think and maybe later down the line I'll take requests. As for now, I'll slowly be adding more and more as I get time to do them so keep checking every now and then.
I've thought of a similar thing for a while, but I figured the effort to put together something like vgmstream for video files was more than anyone was willing to bear.
I can do this consistently, at least for a while. After that I'll probably pass over the account to someone else who can, I'll work that out as the time draws nearer.
At the moment I've got two major methods for getting these videos done. I'm using the emulator BizHawk for pretty much all the video dumping of the older console in high enough resolution. Works wonders, except some games have ending movies or things that are unlocked at the end and that means playing through the entire game to get these. Either that or I'll need Bizhawk compatible saves a few seconds before the movie plays or as it's unlocked in the movie player or whatever (this depends on the game).
With the newer games where there are actually separate video files, it's just a matter of getting those files and then making them play. I haven't had much trouble with any of the formats yet, things are actually going a lot smoother than I expected.
I do have this though. There are just over twenty files. Half play perfectly, like E0009_GC whilst the other half have the problem seen in E0004_GC. I'm not sure how to go about fixing it yet but I'll get it eventually. Any help is always appreciated though.
I had solved this problem a while back but was encoding everything in xvid at really low bitrate at the time and can't for the life of me remember how I did it.
I'll have a look in next two days or so and get back to you on it! Whilst doing a quick search earlier I did stumble upon this. I'm expecting it won't do the trick but I won't get a chance to test that theory until Thursday so I thought I'd share it here for the time being.
Oh, and this may come in handy for those who'd like to keep videos off Youtube, especially since they've changed their system around and most sites and programs will only let you download in 720p. It's mostly a combination of various software such as Youtube-dl and NCH's Switch and Prism, along with a cheap GUI with some batch files I quickly made up.
Hitting the "Download Stream" will just get you the highest quality file available. In most cases it's 720p mp4. Hitting the "Download 1080p" should hopefully get the separate audio and video streams, convert them and remux them together into an mkv file named after the URL.
It was originally made for my own personal use only, so I didn't take much into consideration. There may be licenses, prerequisite software (I think it may need Python 3.3 or above). It's just a collection of small programs that do the heavy lifting, I was just the one who bunched them together and made the batches and the poor GUI.
If you get it working then it should be a great one-click way for you to download the 1080p videos for offline use should you want to. If not then ah well, it was worth a shot. I won't be offering any support or updates to it though, as it was just for me originally it's as is!
Had to take the previous file down, unfortunately, but it's no big loss. Haven't had much luck with the mobiclip stuff as yet, either.
I have managed to add a few new games to the list though and have about 200 more ready to encode over the next few weeks though, so I'm happy with the progress I'm making at this point.
Could someone give me a hand compiling this as a windows binary? http://www.mediafire.com/download/o6ziwooxaej93w8/dolphin_avsync_4116S.tar.gz
The main difference between this version and the standard dolphin is that it outputs timecodes with frame dumps to make sure it syncs correctly properly. I've compiled a few other recently builds before but this one's a few years old and I'm having difficulty (the source is not mine, it was given to me upon request).
Here's a third mirror. The other links are still working for me, if there's still a problem can you suggest a hosting site that's known to work correctly on your computer for me to upload to instead?
Are you saying clicking on my link does nothing? That's a bit of a surprise given it refers directly to the file (that is, no page resources for IE to barf on).
Don't know what to tell you... Right-click -> save link as? Use a different browser? DL from some other machine? Post your address so we can mail you a CD?
Hmm. It's seeming like a problem on your end at the moment. Are you able to try on a different browser or on a different computer, as tranxient suggested?
Yep, HCS is spot on. It's Dolphin r7719, but it's been modified to output a timecodes file so that the video and audio sync up as they're shown on the emulator. The native video dumping feature of Dolphin is very flawed without this.
I think all I'll need is the Dolphin executable (though there's only one way to find out).
I can't offer much information though, this version is different to all the other AV Sync versions out there and was supplied to me because the person responsible was friendly and I asked!
