The file structure seems pretty similar to SDAT, hence why I'm asking. Googling didn't help here, just some soneek github page with no compiled executables.

Also, on that note - any way to play the 3DS sequences yet? I'm currently going through all unripped games and am seeing lots of non-streamed tracks.

by ChillyBilly at 12:36 AM EST on December 18, 2016: ^Wish I could help, but I'm not sure how to deal with the sequenced stuff, either... which is why I leave the .bcsar files as-is when I upload rips. Shame too, since there are some sequenced games I'd have posted here long ago if I knew how to rip them (Super Robot Taisen UX, Metal Max 4, Sakura Samurai, the first Dillon's Rolling Western, just to name a few). I guess I can post the BCSARs of them if anyone wants, though (it might take me a little time to fetch them, though).

If what you seek is not present, then all I can say once again is that those additional tracks are most likely sequenced, and I'm no expert when it comes to that kind of thing (though I at least included all the available BCSAR files I found so whoever else wants to tinker with them can go nuts).

by ChillyBilly at 11:00 PM EST on January 13, 2017: Okay, here's the deal with tonight's 3DS upload: I ripped the game Jikkyou Powerful Pro Yakyuu Heroes, but the audio comes in these BNK/PCK archives (with BKHD/AKPK headers respectively), which I just can't get to extract properly. I've tried many a method (mainly QuickBMS scripts) but the most I was able to get out of my attempts were these unplayable WAV files. So once again, I ask if there's anyone who can lend their assistance? I've got the game's sound archives right here:

As far as new music goes, I honestly can't say for sure since I didn't listen to much of the original version's soundtrack (just never really got around to hearing the whole thing for some reason). Anyhoo, here we go:

Why would Nintendo include all three?

by kode54 at 10:33 PM EST on February 11, 2017: Those two rips don't even appear to be from the same source. One is ADX format ripped from a file system, the other is HCA ripped from AWB files.

The HCA files seem to be 32768Hz versions of the same soundtrack as the Wii U version.

The ADX files don't even appear to be from the same game. Who even posted that? Where did they rip it from?

fs1.dat (It should be noted that despite the archive being a .dat file, it has a NUS3 header.)

Anyway, still don't have the GV2 DLC yet, but hopefully that will change soon....

I basically want to extract the voices and SFX. and if there's a way to repack it again , i would like to know as well so i can mod the game, that's really the only thing i need to extract and repack.

by tywald at 5:29 PM EDT on March 28, 2017: Hm, maybe some of the MCA fixes broke MH3U soundtracks(regression), such as ML_V_SHINE.mca (sounds distorted). Others like MQ_FIGHT89.mca is all static. They work fine on the 1050-50gd22a43b revision on the winamp plugin; I wish I could freely jump between revisions but seems foobar2000 force the latest update so I can't go back and pinpoint exactly when(unless I'm blind, are there older versions available or are they always replaced?). inb4 compile yourself.
by bnnm at 5:52 PM EDT on March 28, 2017: Could you try to rerip MH3U? Many v5 MCA, that didn't play originally, were truncated in attempt to "fix" them. I assume you have such rip.

Support for v5 MCA was added and while some of those rips may work, I don't think it's possible to save most, since they cut point varies.
by tywald at 10:53 AM EDT on March 29, 2017: Freshly extracted my own dump(with the "Toolkit" v5.7) and it still sounds distorted/static. I'm 100% positive that my dump is good; if you have access to the game you can verify it.

\ExtractedRomFS\sound\bgm\lobby\wav\ML_V_SHINE.mca
(just to prove the that filepath is correct).
Some tracks are fine like MQ_CSELECT.mca

If it's impossible to fix then I'm personally OK with using different vgmstream revisions. It's just inconvenient :P

I've fixed it but I'll do some extra tests just in case.

Dragon Fang (Unfortunately, I have no clue how to play this game's music at the moment. The files come in this ".ab" extension that I've never seen before. I should also note that this is another Unity game, but I haven't found any way to make these files playable with the Unity tools I have.... maybe someone here can lend a hand?)
