19Hz or 19 KHz? :P
by TheUltimateKoopa at 1:04 PM EDT on April 16, 2015
19 kHz. Why do people always get them confused? It's not like calories.
1 calorie = 1 calorie.
1000 calories = 1 kilocalorie.
HOWEVER, 1 kilocalorie is also known as 1 Calorie (with a capital "C"). When people use "calories", in foods, they actually mean "kilocalories". So scientifically, when it says you should use 2000 calories a day, it's really 2 million (or 2000 kcal). However, just because 1000 calories = 1 Calorie, it doesn't mean 1 kilohertz = 1 hertz...... GOD DAMMIT!.

Also, I am the master of making even the most trivial things a big thing. I could make a long post that looks like a rant about the most plainly trivial thing. Because I am the master of overreactions, am I not?

Ironically, I think the exact same of you, Koopa. I made that comment to satire your previous ones.

Anyway, I'm still requesting that "Adventure Time: Hey Ice King" rip if anyone is willing to upload it.

And if you can, convert the .vol files that apparently come with it, but if you can't then that's okay too.

Also, piggybacking on the Layton X Phoenix Wright game, unless it's already on joshw's website.

@Claus I'll upload Xenoblade 3D this weekend. I need to GENH everything, and the recent VGMToolbox update will make it easier than before. It's got an adx extension, but it's really little endian Nintendo DSP.

This is my last 3sf set for a bit, as my 3DS is out of commision. (I have a 007-2001 error in the eshop, that needs to be serviced by Nintendo. :( )

I'm just curious if there had been any luck with the remaining unplayable songs from Rhythm Heaven: The Best Plus?
by plusy at 8:31 PM EDT on July 8, 2015
@jonatti
Geez, I feel like Dr. Frankenstein, but I've gotten a few of the files to be at least playable. I feel like Frankenstein because to do this I'm using a hex editor to paste parts of a working bcwav into the not working rhythm heaven bcwav files. This is unideal since I think the player rather than the files needs to be edited but its the best I've got, since I in fact have no idea what I am doing.

To dump them I used
https://gbatemp.net/threads/3ds-cwav-dumper.361437/

The working bcwav I'm using is actually banner.bcwav in the rhythm heaven folder

I also used this guide to see what I'm changing http://3dbrew.org/wiki/BCWAV

The three parts I've changed to make them playable

1. Make sure the DATA header is as far down as it is in banner.bcwav

2. Block 8 to B has to be the same as banner.bcwav. This part is shown to be unknown in the guide.

3. Block 24 to 27 has to be the same as banner.bcwa. This part is shown to be the Data Chunk Offset in the guide.

To be honest, I've got no clue why this is working lol, so I hope someone more experienced takes over, haha.

I'm going to try to see if this works on the other ones.

Meanwhile here's ten files that seem to be working in vgstream, but I don't know if it is perfect. https://mega.co.nz/#!6oJAVCCS!WzeLVatRHPKnkxkjqJSdjq1SR531emhBUjCeU6Rgz_0

Thanks. I've listened to all ten files.
These four are the new ones not ripped before:

06.bcwav [Result - Try Again]
07.bcwav [Result - OK]
09.bcwav [Result - Superb]
10.bcwav [Doctor Bacteria]

For the duplicates, I compared them with the already ripped ones and I haven't found any technical issues (like clicking sounds or missing instruments). In other words, it sounds perfectly fine.

(In case anyone wants them)

https://mega.co.nz/#!blgixaTL!EEM_WRnBOe6nxTcTo6YIDQjBp_1hUkK-q05u78IY09o

Edit: mca is playable in vgmstream if you delete 8 null (00) bytes in a hex editor between offsets 00000090-000000B0 (immediately after CC bytes)

Voice mcas require 24 null bytes to be deleted between offsets 00000060-00000080.

Edit2: Staffroll_part2 requires 20 null bytes to be deleted at offsets 000000AC-000000BF.

Tell me if the download works since the upload was a little iffy.

I can't guarantee there are no errors because I used a find and replace method to edit them (Thanks to uncompressed rar files).

by plusy at 8:17 PM EDT on July 9, 2015
Edit: Ah shoot, never mind, this doesn't really work for replacements that changd the file size.

To the people who are using a simple hex editor but don't want to go through every mca file, there's a technique I've learned to use find/replace on every file at the same time, involving winrar.

1. Add all the files to archive and select Store as the Compression method.

2. Open the rar file in the Hex editor and use replace to edit the hex values. In this case it would be to find CC CC 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 and replace it with just CC CC.

3. Select extract files and remember to check Keep broken files. It will say the files are corrupt but that's exactly what we want.

There is room for error in this but I think it beats going through each file.

by x3n0n at 10:17 PM EDT on July 9, 2015
@ Segtendo

For those you listed the hex looks like this:

Starting at Offset 00000090

CC CC CC CC CC CC CC CC | 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00

Ending at Offset 000000A0

Just delete the 8 00s and it should work

Been using HxD for editing

Nobody for The Croods Prehistoric Party?
Doctor Lautrec by Venouney at 12:41 AM EDT on July 18, 2015
Hello,

First, sorry to bother you. I hope my bad english won't give you a headache.

My request is the following one : could you please make a rip of the 3DS game, "Doctor Lautrec and the Forgotten Knights"

I asked to the main composer Nobuko Toda, but she told me that an OST will never available.
And not long ago I finally had an answer and I've learnt that she must let all files when she left from Konami.
And the only files which stayed in her hard drive was not ingame music

I can't do the rip by myself because I don't own a 3DS anymore I must sold it for financial reasons.
And I think the decrypt method would be too complicated for me.

I want to make a full "OST" for that game, it's been years that I'm searching someone who can take the time to do this.
That's why I come to you by a recommandation of a member of "forums.ffshrine.org".

However your decision, thanks for reading me.

Sincerely,
Venouney

Doctor Lautrec by Venouney at 6:37 AM EDT on July 18, 2015
Hello,

Thanks for the link. I've checked it and some cues from the score are missing and one is alterate. (Or am I wrong?)

missing cues : 1.2.3.4.6.33.38.40.43.45.50.51
alterate one : 48

Anyway thanks a lot for this nice share

Here my questions :

Will the score will be uploaded anew with the missing cues in ones of this format (Wav, Aif, Flac, Mp3)

And finally how to convert "bcstm" to any other format?

Sincerely,

You can convert .bcstm to any other format using the foobar2000 plugin. Drag and drop the music to foobar, then right click and select convert. Choose "...", and you can choose your output format!

I don't have the foobar2000 plugin link handy, though. Would someone mind linking it?

Hey 54634564,

Do you happen to have the Brain Age: Concentration Training rip by any chance?

Thanks in advance!

^That game should never be spoken of ever again. Especially if you're European. You know how Yoshi's Woolly World is coming out in the US in 3 months, and around 4 months after the European release? Well that's nothing. The game mentioned in the previous post, was released in the US in March 2013, I think. Now, as you know, I do sometimes over-exaggerate. But in this case, I am not exaggerating when I say there has not been a SINGLE.... MICROSCOPIC.... PIXEL representing any form of text, OR even a fraction of a second of a single sample of audio, regarding any possibility of the whereabouts of this game.

Or, in a slightly less confusing way of saying it... Nintendo of Europe have mentioned the game, since April 2013, as much as they have mentioned Justin Bieber's socks.
And as you can probably work out, that means literally absolutely and utterly entirely the concept of "nothingness", is what is being referred to. This isn't one of those "nothing", where nothing really means "a small amount". I mean "nothing". Brain Training: Concentration has been completely absent from the entire concept of the universe, in terms of Europe, for 2 years.

WHERE!
THE!
FUCKING!
HELL!
IS!
IT!
YOU
CUNTS, NINTENDO?
