@mariofan12ify & TheUltimateKoopa: There most certainly is an OST for P&DZ, true. However.... it's incomplete. Owning the game myself, I can say for certain that the OST is missing several tracks from the game, hence my request for a rip. But again, I'd be more than glad to take this task upon myself if I just knew how...
by TheUltimateKoopa at 10:18 PM EST on February 2, 2016
Apparently I was searching for "puzzles" instead of "puzzle"

And as rude and obnoxious as this may sound, there should be absolutely NO excuse for a game, that can be ripped ("can" meaning "people know how to", not just "it's possible"), not to be ripped. And "there is an OST" should definitely not be an excuse either. Why the heck was Super Mario 64 ripped? There was an OST. Why was Mario Kart 64 ripped? There was an OST. Need I say more?

If you're going to suddenly go on about how "there's an OST so there's no point", then 99% of all rips should have never been made, since 99% of games that are ripped, most likely had OSTs long before the game was ripped.

@TheUltimateKoopa - I agree with you. Rather than just fuck around and say "there is an OST so why bother?", we might as well try and explore through the game files so that we can rip the music. I've been ripping music from unseen games around here for a reason.
by TheUltimateKoopa at 2:19 PM EST on February 3, 2016
And anyway, the OSTs are very rarely, if at all, complete. Even the ones that seem to be complete may not have everything. Especially Super Mario Galaxy. There are some sequences that aren't in the OST at all, such as the piece that plays when you first gain a new power-up.

Regarding 3ds music... by threeblacknoises at 5:31 PM EST on February 6, 2016
Hay all.
I'm still waiting for my rhythm tengoku the best rip, but in the meantime, is their anyway someone could rip the pokemon cries from omega ruby or alpha sapphire?
That game; unlike x and y; doesn't have a place in the game without music.
That, and without the ability to trade, I can't get all of the cries in the first place.
If it's like x and y, the cries are in the sound data file, and are contained; I believe; in a separate data file.
Just checking..
No worries if it can't be done...
Regarding Rhythm tendoku the best plus, I did try to get the hugefiles link when it was up, but my web browser reported that the site was trying to redirect me to a malicious site and wouldn't let me download the file.
As said previously, I already have the bwav files, so I just need the stuff that was playable in the original hugefiles link; if anyone stil has a coppy of its contents hanging around.
Okay, I'll stop talking now...
About 3DS request by Vector Harbor at 5:39 PM EST on February 6, 2016
I don't want to sound stupid but remenber game cost money and not a lot of people are interesting to rip the music or they don't have the skill to do sure it sound sad for you...

Also for rhythm tengoku the best I wish I could help you but I only have the file in MP3...Sure original file take less space...
by plusy at 9:27 PM EST on February 6, 2016
@threeblacknoises

Rhythm Tengoku huh?

I can't guarantee I have everything you want, but here's all the files I have minus the bcgrp files that contained the bcwav files. You could cross reference with the mp3 files if they are available.

https://mega.nz/#!kstjAaib!yaJnuh6QFcM6d0Yq_rJYoA_uNF66aCfC3OzeCIvQK-Y

Tell me if I'm missing anything.
Thanks Plusy! by threeblacknoises at 10:13 AM EST on February 7, 2016
Hay Plussy.
Thanks so much for that.
As far as I can tell, all you're missing are the synth tracks the game plays during each of the tutorial sections of each stage, and I already have all of those.
I'll have to cross reference with the youtube m4as and mp3s I have, but I'm pretty sure this is everything.
Thanks again!
Edit: Just whet through everything.
All songs are accounted for, but now I have a question for those people who might want a complete rip of the music.
Some songs are provided in both aac and the native 3ds streaming format.
Should I include one over the other or both?
Also, I've moved all of the synth tracks used for practice sessions into a folder called Practice BGM.
Thanks

by Kurausukun at 6:28 AM EST on February 14, 2016
Sonic Lost World uses those files. They're CRI's new(ish) format, as I recall, and VGMToolBox has a tool for extracting things from them.
by ultramario1998 at 10:31 AM EST on February 14, 2016
Hm. The acb files give a checksum mismatch, and just extracting the awb's by themselves just gives a bunch of bin files. (which vgmstream does not like)

by Bubblun at 1:25 PM EST on February 24, 2016
The 3DS is capable of so much better-sounding music, right?

...Right?

Why do companies assume that people enjoy listening to such low-quality audio on a handheld device? Even without headphones I can tell. Blech.

by Kurausukun at 4:01 PM EST on February 24, 2016
If you didn't care about size, 3DS music could play 48000Hz music just fine if you really wanted it to. It's not like it takes that much more CPU power. For example, Xenoblade 3D had all of its audio sampled at 32728Hz, which is pretty decent, considering. It also fit into around 3GB, so it doesn't take a huge amount of space either. It really is a mystery.

@Bubblun
Look, I know many of you disagree, but to me, 16364hz doesn't sound that bad to me. Just be glad that it's not at 8000hz or 11025hz or anything like that. I mean, could you imagine a 3DS game having music sampled that low?
by Kurausukun at 5:50 PM EST on February 25, 2016
How the fuck is 16364 "not that bad"? Hell, Smash 3DS was sampled at 20000, and that was pretty bad too. Really 32000 should be the absolute lowest anything is ever sampled.
by Vector Harbor at 6:47 PM EST on February 25, 2016

This is the message that I get after running the ACB+AWBs through the VGMToolBox's archive extractor:

"Processing ACB file: 'pxz2_bgm.acb'.
Error processing <C:\Users\Owner\Videos\Project X Zone 2 ACB+AWB (1)\pxz2_bgm.acb>. Error received: AWB file, <pxz2_bgm.awb>, did not match MD5 checksum inside ACB file.

And the result is unplayable .bin files.

I don't think it's a space thing. I think it's a CPU thing.

For instance, you mentioned Xenoblade Chronicles 3D. Well, that's a poor example, as it had quite a few framerate drops, especially when fighting many enemies at once.
And I know it's not a GPU issue, as turning on/off the 3D effect had no relevance to the framerate whenever the framerate dropped to 15 FPS-ish.

The game was limited by the New 3DS' CPU. That's why the map didn't have touch screen support, apparently the devs didn't have enough CPU power, according to the Iwata Asks.
Ironically, that's why they moved the game to the New 3DS in the first place: The regular 3DS didn't have enough CPU power!
by Kurausukun at 4:15 PM EST on February 26, 2016
Xenoblade 3D was certainly a game that needed all the resources it could get, but ~16KHz more of audio seems trivial enough that at the very worst, it would have slightly exacerbated the laggier parts of the game, but it's understandable. You usually aren't so pressed for CPU, though, as long as you've optimized your game well.
by robotortoise at 9:16 AM EST on February 27, 2016
Yeah, the 16Khz audio probably wasn't the biggest CPU hog.

by ultramario1998 at 1:02 AM EST on March 3, 2016
the ACB file appears to be used in conjunction with its respective AWB file in order to correctly extract. I haven't gotten it to work yet though...
by Therius Shulk at 8:28 AM EST on March 4, 2016
Figured it out a few hours ago. If you're using vgmtoolbox, then drag the AWB file into the CRI-HCA Extractor to extract HCA files. Next you'll need to find the "HCA decoder" on the forums and use the latest version to decode the HCA files into Wavs. From there you can pretty much do what you please with them, but be warned that most don't fade out.

...Or I can upload the Wavs later on.

Is there anyway to use the PC decrypter with a .cia, or convert the .cia to a .3ds?
by 54634564 at 12:04 AM EST on March 10, 2016
If the CIA is encrypted normally(made with funkyCIA or something), then no. If it's zero encrypted(like if it was repacked after cryptofixing), then possibly with some work.

The buttrom is probably going to be leaked/released/stolen sometime this year. Then we won't have to deal with any bullshit or need a 3DS to do any decryption. Can't wait.

Thank for the Hyrule Warriors Legends Rip !
by BtEO at 1:22 PM EDT on March 28, 2016
There's a couple of problems with those files.

First they're all set to loop, even the ones that shouldn't.
Second, they don't all sound right. 0000001F is particularly good at demonstrating that.

From what I can tell the G1L parts of the files are strictly an archive, and were only treated as part of the audio format originally because the Wii U Hyrule Warriors stuck to one file per archive. The VGMStream source doesn't seem to load any of the audio parameters from before the "WiiBGM" bytes. So you can extract those files add then any old .g1l header as long as it's 28bytes long and starts with "G1L_"

I'll have my own extraction up as soon as I figure out why I'm currently getting a nasty pop at the loop points — probably just cutting the file in the wrong place. For which I can at least cheat and look at soneek's files. :P

Edit:
Hyrule Warriors Legends rip

I've included the VGMToolbox preset and batch files to add the header for any curious folk but the files should be ready to go as-is.

Now to go see how to extract update/DLC data so I'm ready for any new files there.

I got all midis from Triforce Heroes and reconstructed all the 8-bit tracks (except totem choirs) using a square-like soundfont and a pulsed square one. They both sounded VERY similar to the game, but I don't know which one is better.

How did you obtain the midis from triforce heroes? Have a link?

I extracted game's contents with braindump, extracted the sequences from the .bcsar archive with 3DS Audio Ripper and converted with cseq2midi.

Btw, this thread needs some love for Detective Pikachu: https://onedrive.live.com/redir?resid=CD880B8F8230FAC3!30520&authkey=!AGddJEENUvpOaUM&ithint=file%2czip

EDIT: Threw the midis on Gashisoft's GXSCC Beta 773 and it sounds exactly like the game. Amazing software!

Oh nice! Would you mind uploading those zelda triforce heroes midis as well and sharing them with us? We'd appreciate it, thanks!
