Yes, but only a few games use it (Mario Party 10, for example). It also stores the voice files, sound FX, and other instrument samples (if the music is in MIDI form, or tracked, w/e).
Anyone can upload the BFSAR archive from Zelda BotW? Because in Joshw.info, there is only the .bfstm files, and musics like the Shrine theme are in the BFSAR archive...
Hi to all, I have the dump of Splatoon 2 and I wanted to rip all the soundtracks, while I can play all of them perfectly on foobar2000 thanks to the VGMStream plugin, I can't play the STRM_World.bfstm theme, I noticed that the song has like 10 sounds channels and I think that is the problem, is the only one that has so many channels. I tried downloading vgmstream form sourceforge but when I open the track there to convert it an error appears "failed opening STRM_World.bfstm" Can someone help me? Thanks in advance!
I've found the BARS files. Wow, it's horrible, the music is separated in many BFWAV files... I must re-create the music with Audacity, and I need time to do it also... But this is the only way to make a loop to the Shrine theme, and have the Shrine Theme of a benediction, because the music is different than normals Shrines!

smash dlc by pguy at 12:09 AM EDT on August 15, 2017
Links for the Smash dlc seem to be broke. any links for the update 2.50 on mega are down, and the IPFS link will only download 85 megs worth and quit. I found cloud/bayonetta in here and have those now. the joshw page has it dated as 2014 so I'm guessing that is the game rip and not dlc tracks. Any ideas? I was hoping for a complete soundtrack.
@pguy - Are you talking about the 3DS or the Wii U version? The date in the file name is always the game's earliest release date, it's not updated for subsequent additions. For the Wii U version the set's file modification date is January this year so I suspect all DLC and updates including 1.1.6 should be covered.
I've wanted an audio rip of LEGO Dimensions since the game came out, but it looks like it hasn't been done. I'm attempting to rip my own disc (and preferably DLC), so if anyone has any suggestions, or help, it'd be greatly appreciated. I'm having a hard time finding recent (2017) methods on doing this though, which is why I'm asking for any ideas. Obviously, this forum isn't a "Help me HAX!" board, so feel free to ignore me, if that's the best option for this forum.
Regardless, thank you very much for still going strong! I just wish I had more time to stick around and be part of the community. :/ Mouser X over and out.
Hey sorry to revive a somewhat dead thread but I had a quick question. In Mario Maker, there's the remix of the mario theme that plays when you're reading the in-game manual. I've dumped the game myself and that one song doesn't seem to exist in the sound folder, so I tried dumping the manual as well and it's not in there either. Does anyone have any info on this? (Still living with a line-in recording :'( )
That's the really weird thing though. It's gotta be in there somewhere, even if it's sequenced. I guess it's another one of those things purposely put there to screw with us?
Thank you so much for telling me to look again :D After digging through every file (finding out what Uwizard is and learning how to use it) I came to the conclusion that it just wasn't there. Then I checked in the meta folder instead and saw manual.bfma. After extracting it, there's now a file there called bgm.sqsa. I am 100% certain that is the music file, however I have no idea how to play back an sqsa file (I assume it's sequenced). Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.
@MurraySkull I can't thank you enough for this :D :D :D
W̶h̶a̶t̶ ̶t̶o̶o̶l̶(̶s̶)̶/̶p̶r̶o̶g̶r̶a̶m̶(̶s̶)̶ ̶d̶i̶d̶ ̶y̶o̶u̶ ̶u̶s̶e̶ ̶t̶o̶ ̶m̶a̶k̶e̶ ̶t̶h̶e̶ ̶w̶a̶v̶?̶ Never mind, after seeing it was a bfwav, I thought "How could I have been so stupid?" and loaded the bfma into vgmtoolbox, like I had done with literally all the other files while trying to find this one. Thanks so much though still :D
I find that the link for Japanese voice of Xenoblade Chronicle X is dead...Is there any other place I can still find them or someone could reupload them? Thanks!
Just found out that there's a game for Wii U called Star Ghost, and David Wise did the soundtrack for it, but there's no rip yet (only the title screen on youtube). Does anyone have a copy to rip at all?
Hey man, I don’t want to be that person but, stop making new threads and reviving old ones to ask the same question. I’m sure people have seen every single one but the problem is no one here probably knows how to reproduce the exact header. I’m sure you heard this before but keep trying and just use vgmstream’s source code to make a somewhat useable replica.
Does anyone know if the eShop songs have been archived and if so, where? I'd imagine I'm too late to do it myself because I'd be surprised if Nintendo kept the older music on their servers still.
The original server to download wii u music from (before it was all uploaded to joshw) had the original eShop music file, as well as the console musics (like the settings and mii channel for example). That website seems to be down now and I don't believe any of it was added to joshw.
I was able to get the original eShop song with UWizard but I'm talking about all of the other songs afterwards. Were those stored locally on a system or accessed when you connected to the eShop?
My guess would be on their servers since they've put out a lot of different musics for it over the past few years which would just take up a pointless amount of hard drive space (what little there even is to begin with).
A year later and I've tried my hand again at a batch of Wii U rips to get the proper filenames and extensions (from unity games). It's not all shovelware including Yakuza 1&2 HD, Taiko no Tatsujin, and the Skylanders games audio.

Hi guys, is there any chance of a proper Devil's third rerip? The thing is it's probably the only Wii U title I'm really interested in but I've never ever ripped from that specific platform and I'm not quite sure I'm willing to start now. You know what usually happens when one begins dealing with an entirely new console: he has to find out if VG disc dumps are actually ISO files or just loads of individual files a-la PS3 BD dumps, then he needs to find and get some specialized tools to open disc image files and so on. Not to mention that entire ISO/dump might be just too big for me to download...
So my point is: even if someone posts original WWise bank (PCK or BNK bigfile supposedly holding every piece of audio used in the game, maybe apart from voiceovers) here I'll be enormously grateful, I'm sure I'll be able to take it from there. BTW having demuxed audio from BIKs would be nice too if you use VGMToolbox and leave that "split audio tracks" field unchecked.
I read long ago it was wem and the oggs was ripped out of them

Thanks a lot !!!!!, I'm really happy to have this rip!
BTW is there going to be a tagged InFamous Second son release @FFS forums? Of course this score is great even as it is (IE with just numbers for filenames) but still it'd be totally awesome to have something like a custom album with proper titles. I'd gladly grab such a release even if it didn't have all the tracks from gamerip, only the most important themes which didn't make it to an official CD.
Reuploading the Wii U Tropical Freeze soundtrack as it turns out the currently uploaded soundtrack is missing a handful of songs, one of the files is broken, the songs are in a completely different format and file name structure, and vgmstream's latest update can now play the original files.
I ripped these from the English version, since no one has uploaded them yet, and they can be played with foobar2000 (if you have the plugins for them to work).
