Super Smash Bros Wii U Sound Effects? by WrappedInBlack at 3:12 PM EST on December 30, 2014
OK so anyone know how to rip Wii U isos? I need them sounds bad! IK there probs in nus3banks which is no prob... I just need em... any help is greatly appreciated.

use VGMToolbox to split the BFWAVs from the archives using some setup I haven't figured out.

You have to know,

Search String (as hex)

Cut Size

and some other things, output them as BFWAVs.

I may be wrong on the extension.

they're not on the .nus3banks, not on the stream folder that is- not that I'm aware of.

What do I know, you said any help so I tried.

I meant how do I actually get into Wii U isos... But that'll probably come in handy later too so thanks

No one here except crediar can decrypt the isos. The isos are available to download but they are useless unless you have the common key to decrypt the key needed to decrypt the game itself.

I'm getting the voices and sound effects now. I'll update here once I'm finished.
by Kurausukun at 3:04 PM EST on January 18, 2015
Awesome, thanks for the hard work. I would like a little information on how the sound effects are stored, though--is it a bfsar or some other archive-type file?
by soneek at 4:14 PM EST on January 18, 2015
NUS3bank. I'm working on separating the different languages since it's the PAL version.
by Kurausukun at 5:24 PM EST on January 18, 2015
Oh, that makes sense. So no JP voice rips yet, then? That's a shame, but I'll take what I can get.
by RebeccaSugar at 6:45 PM EST on January 18, 2015
Isn't the duck hunt sound missing in the PAL version? Oh well, other than that, I wish they could have kept the "You're too slow" bit, it would be great to have heard it with Roger Craig Smith.

They were really lazy with Sonic. They just recycled some of his clips from other games; I doubt they even asked him to record any lines specifically on the game. In the JP ver, on the other hand, Sonic's voices are exactly the same as Brawl.
by WrappedInBlack at 9:18 PM EST on January 18, 2015
That's because Sonic only got a new English VA, not a new JP one... So they didn't need new clips in JP... And they didn't care about the US version by itself
by RebeccaSugar at 9:17 AM EST on January 19, 2015
That's pretty depressing, now that I think about it, they didn't even bother using new assets at all- hell, Windy Hill sort of looks like a custom stage now that I think about it, the music is all reused, wow- poor sonic.

Fans still ate it up, I mean- at least he's THERE...right?
by WrappedInBlack at 10:21 AM EST on January 19, 2015
Windy Hill just looks how it's looks in Lost World... chunky grass and all...
by WrappedInBlack at 4:26 AM EST on January 20, 2015
@soneek how are the sound effects coming along?
by RebeccaSugar at 10:26 AM EST on January 20, 2015
Let's be patient, I'm sure it's coming along quite well, I can't wait to hear Marth and Link's sweet, sweet, sexy grunts.
by WrappedInBlack at 8:31 AM EST on January 28, 2015
same -u- I also wanna add some stuff to Project M... I want Lil' Mac's KO meter charge sound to play when people get KO'd... among other things.
by WrappedInBlack at 7:12 AM EDT on April 19, 2015
Does anyone have these yet? I still couldn't download an iso to rip them myself...
by RebeccaSugar at 3:09 PM EDT on April 19, 2015
I wonder, why do you want them exactly?

I can give you an invite to https://www.blackcats-games.net/ that is, if you're a hardcore seeder. The ISO should be there.

I dunno, maybe ask someone else for an invite, I got too modest last time...
by soneek at 3:27 PM EDT on April 19, 2015
I guess I can look more into this tonight. More Smash Bros. research needs to be done.
by WrappedInBlack at 10:21 AM EDT on April 22, 2015
someone already put em all up on sounds-reasource... whoever did it... thank you so much
by Kurausukun at 12:53 PM EDT on April 22, 2015
Those are probably line-out from the sound test menu. We want the giant archive (or however they stored the sounds) from the disc itself. Unfortunately, I do not know how to dump Wii U ISOs, nor do I know where to find them.
by WrappedInBlack at 7:36 PM EDT on April 22, 2015
I'm pretty sure those are the legit files... don't ruin this for me...
by RebeccaSugar at 8:44 PM EDT on April 22, 2015
Nope, they're definitely line out.

So Sorry!
by soneek at 5:16 AM EDT on April 23, 2015
I can at least get all the SFX extracted with proper names this weekend. I've been wanting to fix my nus3bank extractor. I'm only gonna do the USA version though.
by Kurausukun at 5:40 AM EDT on April 23, 2015
Oh, the sounds are also in a nus3bank? Interesting. If you're only going to do the USA version, can you post your extractor so other people can extract the other versions?
by WrappedInBlack at 9:49 AM EDT on April 24, 2015
OK but am I the only one that actually downloaded the files from sounds-reasource? If u download them, especially the enemy sounds... I think you'll see that they most likely are the legit files.
