Warriors Orochi 3 Ultimate BGMLink.g1l (PS3) by ChillyBilly at 12:01 AM EDT on September 4, 2016
Well, the thread title is pretty self-explanatory. I had no trouble extracting music from the G1L archives from a few other Warriors-type games since they had a RIFF header, but in this game's case.... it uses something different (which I can't identify since it seems to be a jumbled mess of characters to me). Can anyone help me with this? I've got the archive right here:

Warriors Orochi 3 Ultimate G1L

Thanks in advance!

Have you tried using the RIFF Style Header preset with VGMToolbox's advanced cutter? Use .at3 as the extension, since this is a PS3 game.

I started working on proper extraction of G1L archives, since they're used in almost all of Koei's games now, though someone might beat me to it.

@soneek: Yeah, I already tried the RIFF header preset (it's how I got rips for a few other Warriors games, as I was saying in my last post). Unfortunately, it didn't work since this game seems to use a different kind of header entirely. Furthermore, no other method I tried (such as QuickBMS scripts) worked for me, either.... which led to the creation of this thread. Heck, I'd be super grateful if someone could come up with a VGMT plugin for this bad boy.... 'cuz as it is, it's got me stumped, lol.

Interesting. I'll get back to you on this specific archive then. Also, let me know if you happen to have any g1l files from 360 games. I wanna make sure I cover every used format. So far I have AT9, AT3, and Nintendo DSP archives.

I bet you've never heard of ZenHAX, did you?
It's mostly a support forum in which it's focused around the quickBMS tool.

Anyway, forgive me if I drove this off-topic but then again you might get something interesting around there...

Its maintainer(aluigi) doesn't seem to hang around too much at all times because of his schedule, so try to be patient and maybe you'll get an answer.

@AnonRunzes: Believe it or not, ZenHAX was one of the first places I searched for an answer to my dilemma. I tried a crapload of BMS scripts for Warriors-related games, but none of them worked for me, unfortunately. I considered making a thread there for this issue, but I thought it would be faster to ask here, first. I'll still take that option into consideration if no solution is found here, though.

This G1L file is either encrypted, or wasn't properly dumped. :/

Good news, I managed to get the audio! I took a bit of an alternate approach: I decided to check the Japanese version's data instead. Thankfully, this archive DID have a proper G1L header, and.... well, here we are:

Warriors Orochi 3: Ultimate

Maybe the USA version was encrypted or corrupt, like soneek said after all. Anyways, I still thank those of you who offered help!
