CRI HCA Looping by mistersiraj11 at 9:18 AM EDT on March 16, 2018
Vgmstream, for some reason, can't loop HCA properly or loops quickly but when I use CRI Atom Player, it loops fine. Will this get fixed in the future? I truly appreciate it if you can help me. Thanks!

I was recently experiencing the same thing with BRSTM files. It's a possible conflict with plugins you have installed. My problem was that I had ffmpeg and AC3. Uninstalling AC3 fixed it.

Does this work with foobar? I didn't even install AC3 in it.

I'm not saying it's specifically that plugin. I'm saying I had two plugins installed in foobar that decoded the same files, so it created a conflict, so just check to see if you're in the same boat with the plugins you have installed :)

Foobar works normally for me.

Will send it later. Busy right now.

These are custom files I made a while ago. I need you to pay attention to the loop duration. ADX loops fine but HCA doesn't? Am I doing something wrong here? I'd also thank you in advance if this got sent to bnnm.

ADX Loop:
Start: 282400
End: 5362444
Duration: 5080044

HCA Loop:
Start: 282624
End: 5362688
Duration: 5080064

@bxaimc Hope my post helped. Let bnnm notice if you don't mind.

They both sound fine to me. What version of vgmstream are you using and for what? Foobar or Winamp?
by mistersiraj11 at 1:13 AM EDT on March 18, 2018
The program that I'm using is foobar2000 v1.3.15. As for vgmstream, version r1050-1102-g95d9a7f5 (the latest version by the time of writing this comment).

Are you sure you haven't changed the settings from the default of "Loop normally"? "Loop forever" would also work.
by mistersiraj11 at 5:13 AM EDT on March 18, 2018
@kode54 Here are my current settings:

1. Loop count is 1.00
2. Fade Length is 0.00
3. Fade Delay is 0.02 (for converting purposes)
4. Loop is set to "Loop forever"

My problem is just the loop duration of the HCA file and how long or short the duration is from how it was supposed to loop.

I also updated my vgmstream to the latest version by bnnm. I hope I made this clear and please forgive me if I'm somehow being rude :)

Hope my previous post helped :)

I tried your settings with those files and they sound the same to me.
I don't really understand your issue, what do you mean with "can't loop properly or loops quickly"?

Even if the duration is slightly different between files it's basically inaudible.

I'll try to see what's wrong. Maybe I did something that I wasn't aware of. I'll try to fix it on my own.
