GameCube Music by AllenSword at 10:27 PM EDT on June 25, 2007
The in_cube plays Gamecube music right? How do I get the music files from the disc to play, because when I put a Gamecube disc in the computer, it won't read the format. What do I need to do?

That won't work, bud. Computers won't read the files from the GameCube disc. You have to somehow rip the files from the ROM. How that's done, I don't have a flipping clue.
In any case, what you're looking for are the aforementioned ripped music files. Fortunately, people with far superior programming skills than us have already done the hard work for us. All you have to do is find some site that has these files ready for download. It's that simple!
As for Gamecube discs, they *can* be "read" by a PC DVD drive. However, it requires a modified firmware (to the DVD drive) to do it. Also, the data can't be read directly. You'd have to rip the ISO first, then use a GC tool to read that ISO, and extract the files contained int the ISO. Overall, it's probably not worth your time and effort. There's other ways to do it, but they're a little more expensive. The are, however, slightly easier/safer to do.
In other words, don't put GC discs in your computer. Nintendo has altered the DVD header enough that your PC doesn't recognize the disc. Even if it could, it couldn't read the data on the disc, since it's encrypted. Just find a site that happens to be hosting the files, and download them from there. Also, check The GC Streamed Database to see what games have been tested as working, and non-working. If a game is green (working) and you can't find the files for it, try placing a request (on the forums, not on the USF request thing). Chances are that your request will be ignored, but it can't hurt to ask.
Last, but not least, please check here for more information (as well as the fact that this conversation belongs in that thread). Since that thread is a little large, you might want to search the HCS forums to help find things.
Hopefully you've found this useful. If you have any other questions, by all means, please feel free to ask. Mouser X over and out.
Some great titles that would be great to see on this site are "Harvest Moon: A Wonderful Life", "Legend of Zelda: Collector's Edition", "Mario Party 4" (not listed so unknown if supported) "Megaman Anniversary Collection", "Megaman X: Collection", "Namco Museum" (not listed, "Namco Museum 50th Anniversary", "Pac-Man World 2", "Sonic Mega Collection", "Sonic Gems Collection", "Super Mario Sunshine", "Universal Studios Theme Park Adventure" and "Time splitters 2" those are considered request.
I thought Harvest Moon was already up? Or, is it a different version that's being hosted?
LoZ: Collector's Edition - Very few files on that one. They'd be ADP, but I don't have the GC image to extract the files from.
MMAC: Sir-Sabin got that one. From what he said, it's almost certainly not worth your time/effort to even download it...
MMX:C - I don't have any info to offer, sorry. Though, I would assume it'd be about the same as the MMAC.
Sonic Mega Collection is already available (UNKNOWNFILE and Sir-Sabin ripped it. I can't remember which version is actually hosted though).
Sonic GEMS: Already available (I ripped it, and probably uploaded it).
Super Mario Sunshine: There's like, 2-5 AFC files. Really, nothing special (probably only 1 file, actually...)
Universal Studios Theme Park Adventure: Since I'm the one that ripped it, I can tell you it's nothing special. It's not *bad,* but there's not a whole lot there that's interesting (and there's definitely some there that would be better of being deleted).
And, as I said, this really should be continued here. It's called the "The Official DSP Distribution Thread" for a reason, after all (DSP being the most used format on the GC, and thus all the other streamed formats are generalized into that as well). Mouser X over and out.
Not sure if anyone will even respond to this (thread is almost a year old), but the link that Mouser X gave requires a username/password, so I can't access any of the files.
Is there some other site anyone knows of (I've been searching), or could someone tell me how to get through to that page?
Read the post above yours. Links are not available on this site. Also, use VGMstream, not in_cube. In_cube is old, outdated, and lacking in support. VGMstream is constantly updated, and supports a lot more games than in_cube does (though, there are a few rare formats that in_cube supports, that VGMstream does not yet support).
Sorry, but the post above yours is currently the best option for available sets. Mouser X over and out.
