IIRC, PSF got started with Final Fantasy 7. I figure it's appropriate then to bring up a newly released OverClocked ReMix project: Final Fantasy VII: Voices of the Lifestream. Very impressive coverage of some of my favorite Uematsu work, interesting takes on the big themes and some of the more obscure ones as well. This is a 4 disc collection, as big as the OST itself... Oh, and for those unfamiliar with OCRemix's policies, it's free. Do check it out!

Listened to this quite a few times over the weekend, and it is really good. Note that the torrent has both WAV and MP3 files, so if you only want MP3, be sure to unselect the WAV files. As hcs wrote, there are some killer covers here, and really unique takes on the classics. Much better than I expected.

The project's good quality, easily their best in terms of arrangement/production standards, yet so far I only greatly enjoy one track on there (shnabubula's piano solo, but then I love nearly everything he does.) I guess it's limited worth to me because I don't really rate Uematsu in the first place. Also I'm unable to see the project as a big labour of love because the project director put his personal websites on the about page. It nullifies any and all credit I otherwise would have given him, as it makes it look like he's done it for his own benefit.
Also the piano squall quote is great. Gave me a laugh. I think we all know who the REAL saviours of videogame music online are...
