GameCube: Animal Crossing by Samuel at 2:17 AM EDT on November 3, 2007
I want the complete soundtrack for this game. I was close here, but...

Anybody have it or know where I can get it?

Yeah, saw that one, but you have to have rewards to download the entire soundtrack at once. Downloading 200+ files separately is very time consuming.

The USFs of Animal Forest that HCS ripped have just about all of the songs that are in the GC version of the game. There are several songs missing though, like the island music, Kapp'n songs, etc... (all of the new songs added to the GC version)

Does anyone know if the GC Animal Crossing (audiorom.img) could ever work with in_cube, or is it in some weird format. The GC Stream DB says it's not supported.

The Animal Forest USFs seem a little temperamental. Sometimes they work for me, sometimes they don't.
by marioman at 11:07 AM EDT on November 3, 2007
Unusual... They always work for me. Could it be a plugin conflict?
by Lunar at 11:44 AM EDT on November 3, 2007
I'll guess I'll see when they next spontaneously stop working, IF they do :)

No retro Tv, Apple Tv, Harvest Tv Widescreen and the snowman Tv are not in the USF and some other songs like Don Resetti, I want this soundtrack as well as Samuel does. The USF also seems a little slow. I've also noticed in the Paper Mario USF set Ralph's badge shop is missing.

Nensondubois: Don Resetti wasn't in the N64 version, which is why his music (which is just a variant on the regular Resetti theme) isn't in the USF.

Songs 'missing' from "Animal Forest" USF set:
In the N64 Version:
Welcome Back to Town! (basically "K.K.'s Introduction" without the guitar part)
Only in the GameCube Versions:
Don Resetti's Theme (Variant of "Mr. Resetti")
Mr. Resetti's Theme on Groundhog Day (Variant of "Mr. Resetti")
Reset Intervention Center theme (Doubutsu no Mori e+ exclusive)
Able Sister's Shop
Kapp'n's Tune
K.K. Songs:
Aircheck/Live Song missing:
K.K. Metal (Doubutsu no Mori e+ exclusive)
K.K. Marathon (Doubutsu no Mori e+ exclusive)
K.K. Dixie (Doubutsu no Mori e+ exclusive)
K.K. Rockabilly (Doubutsu no Mori e+ exclusive)
K.K. Rally (Doubutsu no Mori e+ exclusive)
King K.K. (Doubutsu no Mori e+ exclusive)
Agent K.K. (Doubutsu no Mori e+ exclusive)
Marine Song 2001 (Doubutsu no Mori e+ exclusive)
Pondering (Doubutsu no Mori e+ exclusive)
Neapolitan (Doubutsu no Mori e+ exclusive)
Mountain Song (Doubutsu no Mori e+ exclusive)
Steep Hill (Doubutsu no Mori e+ exclusive)
Aircheck only missing:
My Place (Doubutsu no Mori e+ exclusive)
Forest Life (Doubutsu no Mori e+ exclusive)
To The Edge (Doubutsu no Mori e+ exclusive)

Apparently, songs that are from the GameCube versions aren't ripped because, well, the music data hasn't been found in the GameCube ISOs for those games yet. However, for Welcome Back to Town, I believe it is because that track is combined with "K.K.'s Introduction", causing it to be hard to make two separate songs out of it.

How was I supposed to know what songs were in the N64 version because I can't read Japanese nor have the cart plus regional converter (or gameshark). I did wiki it...

>> Songs 'missing' from "Animal Forest" USF set.

How can the GameCube songs be "missing" from the USF set if they were never in the N64 game to start with? Things that don't exist can't be missing.
by hcs at 6:27 PM EST on November 6, 2007
Well, from the point of view of people who are looking for Animal Crossing songs, the USF provides some of them but others are missing.

Perhaps you didn't notice the quotes? :\

I noticed them but the statement didn't seem to make sense. Maybe it's just me.
by nensondubois at 9:51 PM EST on November 15, 2007
I hope you read everything from the start, Marioman as I posted some of the missing songs.
by marioman at 10:03 PM EST on November 15, 2007
I see your list, but are they supposed to be in the N64 game or are they 'missing' like Maple said? So confusing...

If there are songs in the N64 version and are not in the USF set, they can and should be added.
by nensondubois at 5:56 PM EST on November 16, 2007
They are in the g... hey wait, marioman you are right I don't get it. (there is actually something I don't know)
by Maple at 9:33 AM EST on November 25, 2007
Urgh... I guess I should have emphasized more.

The list of songs that I posted (aside from "Welcome back to town!") consisted of songs only in the GCN versions of Animal Forest. Therefore, they were only "missing" because they weren't in the N64 version to begin with. And "Welcome back to town" is a song that has multiple tunes to it, just like Dire Dire Docks in SM64. The main tune is "Totakeke's Intro", and the other tune is "Welcome back to town", which hasn't been ripped.

Don't bug HCS about it. :P
And now, I go back to my Excel Saga.

I just checked out the system involved in muting channels in Animal Forest, but it appears that there's a hard-coded system used to not play some of the instruments in the one song that needs it

800FB148 is where the decision is made about which song is played. Since it's not running on the title screen, I'm guessing it wouldn't be included in the the rip.

In the game, here's the practical codes to duplicate the effects:
Less Instruments:
80274247 0040

More Instruments:
80274247 0076

Only have them enabled while on the New Game screen. Other areas of the game don't use the address for music purposes.
