The Focus Has Shifted by wolupgm6 at 10:42 PM EDT on March 30, 2008
Woah... It Seems Within Two Months, Nobody Really Cares About USFs Anymore... It's All Now Wii, GC & Other Streams... We Need To Get Back To USFs!!

-And Before Any Complaints Are Made About "Why Don't You Do It Yourself", I'll Say It Now; My Harddisk Crashed, So I Had To Buy A New One, And Now XP/Vista Won't Work, So I Have To Use Windows98 SP2, Which Makes It A Lot Harder To Rip USFs.

possible choices

1) do it yourself
2) learn to troll
3) kill yourself

if i were you, i'd go with 3

wolupgm6, can you give us a suggestion on how to shift the focus back to USFs?

Actually, I believe USFs should have Mac Support in the near future... that's why I'm still intrested. It takes a lot of CPU, though, because there's no standard musical driver.

get windows

I am surprised that Audio Overload does not support USF yet. It supports just about everything else. That would be a definite solution to the USF on Mac issue.
by nensondubois at 8:09 PM EDT on March 31, 2008
Richard said he would support USFs soon but apparently doesn't have the time to implement it or test it.

I'm confused. What good would there be in Not Making Progress vs. Making Progress?
by nensondubois at 9:56 PM EDT on March 31, 2008
I don't know.
by marioman at 12:55 PM EDT on April 1, 2008
Today it is looking like our focus has redshifted.

for some reason there is pink colors but the text box is still white. WTF happened?
by wolupgm6 at 9:38 PM EDT on April 1, 2008
i think the textbox must be a seperate object... i somewhat like it...
by nensondubois at 10:11 PM EDT on April 1, 2008
It's weird. if we could change the colors for ourselves to see like a profile most forums have.

I think the basic argument is that USF sets take much more time and effort for potentially unfruitful results, than the other numerous projects going on here. USF sets are low on the priority list. Which sucks, I agree, because there's still plenty of great soundtracks unripped. If only it were as easy as 2SF ripping :)
by nensondubois at 3:40 PM EDT on April 18, 2008
shouldn't 2SFs be called DSFs? DSFs are for Dreamcast. I know already. And I agree about USF sets.
by hcs at 4:03 AM EDT on April 19, 2008
No one came up with any three letter code better than 2SF. DSF would just be confusing.

USFs are, as mentioned, hard to rip. Part of that is due to the nature of N64 games, part of it is due to poor design of the format and player.
And it's not as if I'm doing any other rips, and my rips tended to be lousy anyway. I'm satisfied to do a little coding and host what I can, at this point.

Whaddya mean? Not being biased or anything, but the three best multiset USF rippers are, in my opinion:

HCS, UNKNOWNFILE and JoshW.

Besides, you are the reason I got into programming!
