Problem with Mario Kart .BRSTM by Omochao at 2:38 AM EDT on April 9, 2008
Although most of the files will play, the larger files (whose names all start with STRM) will not.

VGMstream: doesn't recognize them
in_cube: crashes WinAmp

These are probably > 2 channel files. While I've seen them and it is probably straightforward to extract, I haven't written anything to do it yet.
FastElbja, have you?
by fastelbja at 7:36 AM EDT on April 9, 2008
the first file has 4 channels, the second got 6 channels ...

you'll have to wait for vgmstream to handle multi channels, sorry
by Omochao at 9:46 AM EDT on April 9, 2008
Add support then, please.
by unknownfile at 11:10 AM EDT on April 9, 2008
I've said it before, and I'll say it again: <center><blink><font size="5" color="red"><big>DO IT YOURSELF</big></font></blink></center>
by Peppyman at 11:29 AM EDT on April 9, 2008
28MB?? This can't be all of them?!
by valiant at 12:56 PM EDT on April 9, 2008
So, how's the music in the game?
by Omochao at 3:53 PM EDT on April 9, 2008
unknownfile: Shut up!

Peppyman: I only provided a sample.

Prime Blue: The music seems to be pretty good, but I am curious as to how Bowser's Castle sounds. Rainbow Road is alright, maybe not as good as in 64 and Double Dash. Award Ceremony is a remix of the 64 and Super Circuit version.

No U!

Seriously dude, learn to code and do it yourself!
by hcs at 9:40 PM EDT on April 9, 2008
Dear unknownfile,
Please do not pervert the forum with blink tags.

Sincerely,
hcs

Please! Somebody must write a Tool to play these Files. The Music in this Game is awesome. I only heard a few Tracks of the Game but I can say the Tracks are very chill (Mario-Game-Like).^^
I´ve ripped the Music of the Credits of the Game from a Video I found on the Net.
Sorry for the bad Quality!
Mario Kart Wii - Credits Music Rip

Check it out and maybe sommebody like this Tunes and build a Tool for play them in Winamp.;)

by Omochao at 6:04 PM EDT on April 10, 2008

Anyone working on this?
by jurassicPieter at 6:31 AM EDT on April 12, 2008
I just ripped it off the disc. I'll make an mp3 soundtrack.
by DjKnuX at 8:25 AM EDT on April 12, 2008
Thanks jurassicPieter for waste your time for this!^^ I really love the Soundtrack. When youre done with ripping and when it will come up? Which Bitrate do you use for the Soundtrack? Please use a higher Bitrate as 160 kBits. When the Quality is lower then this, the Sound will sucks.:) And which 1Click-Hoster do you use? (When you don´t have an own Server ^^")
I don´t like Rapid, I always usw Megaupload.;)

Thanks in advance and greetz, DjKnuX
by marcusss at 8:29 AM EDT on April 12, 2008
Yeah someone ripped it but at 128kbps.. on FFshrine.. VBR is probably the best extreme or something ;).. Anyway thanks for your hard work doing this ^_^ Any chance to get the brstms? ;)

I'd rather want the BRSTMs than any MP3s.
by Mouser X at 6:23 PM EDT on April 12, 2008
They're available. I don't know if they're on HCS's site (they're not, that I know of), but I do know they're available. Due to the preferences of those doing the releases, I am unable to provide a link to the set. If you join us on IRC @ irc.freenode.net channel #usf then maybe we could work something out. Just FYI, they were put up 3 days ago. Mouser X over and out.
by jurassicPieter at 7:13 AM EDT on April 13, 2008
I put the brstrm that don't work because of the number of channels issue in the main directory and the brstrm's that do work inside the strm directory including the thp files converted to dsp.
the sound library revokart.brsar is included but no file can be extracted from it.

by marcusss at 9:43 PM EDT on April 14, 2008
On the torrent sites you can find the large pack of brstms :) they all work fine.. and sound great. YES it would be nice to hear the missing ones and the contents of the brsar someday :) Im in No rush :P:P
by starerik at 7:58 AM EDT on April 15, 2008
Omochao: Stop requesting it, you tard. You're only going to piss off UF more.
by unknownfile at 8:38 AM EDT on April 15, 2008
Indeed.

Google "C tutorials" and shut the fuck up.
by hcs at 12:15 PM EDT on April 15, 2008
vgmstream r73 (build up as soon as sourceforge updates mirrors) supports multi-channel brstm decoding. Only in the command line version (test.exe), though, where it can safely write many-channel .wavs. You can then do whatever you want with the many channels in an appropriate audio editor.

I'm not happy with the looping yet, though, something is awry and popping at the loop point.

by DjKnuX at 5:15 PM EDT on April 15, 2008
Thanks HCS!^^
I converted the Files to Waves (with Test.exe) and tried to open it. WMP will shutting down. The VLC Media Player only play the first 2 Channels and I searched a solution to extract the other channels. I finally used Adobe Audition 2.0 to split the Tracks (Waves) and mix them into a final Song that looped twice with every Version theTrack has.
When somebody want my Versions of the Songs, (Mp3 at 192 K´Bits) I can upload it.^^
But I think I done a big mistake because I switched the Audio-Channels. (L=R and R=L)
But I don´t know at the Moment. ;)

Greetz and Thanks

Thanks for that HCS :) Will try out that version :P

Just wanted to say how grateful I am, and sorry about those annoying trolls! I certaintly wasn't trying to bait them.
by marioman at 9:50 PM EDT on April 15, 2008
>> Google "C tutorials"

It is funny how you can just look up C tutorials and magically understand DSP isn't it?

For whatever it's worth, it wasn't a substantial change. Hopefully that speaks to the quality of the vgmstream design. Still not sure what the issue is with looping, though.
