If you'd like to give it a try, check out the USF lecture series, which has some walkthroughs of rips and discussion. Many of the URLs have changed, those at halleyscometsoftware.com are now here at hcs64.com, and others you might have to hunt for.

It is essential that you be able to hack pj64 yourself, to plug in the exact triggers you need and insert patches at the appropriate time.
