Newest VGMTrans by dj4uk6cjm at 6:35 AM EST on February 15, 2015
I'm looking for the newest VGMTrans that exports spc to midi, I had a copy of it on my old PC before it fried but now I need it again and I can't find another copy of it online or on the authors website.
Can someone provide me a link? The program is one of the development versions above 20130823 I believe and yes it exports spc to midi like nintspc but better quality actually, it worked with donkey kong country.
Thanks, I found the one that exports spc to midi but it's not the specific version that dumps BS Zelda no Densetsu spc music into midi which is what I need :( nintspc can't do it either even though it's labeled as one of the compatible games in the doc readme.
No I didn't see that one, I'm using the one from zophar but I'll try that one. VGMTrans crashed for me every time I tried to extract midi out of the first set.
Ugh that didn't work either :/ I keep getting some sort of weird debug error in the VGMTrans you shared and the other copy I'm using just crashes when I try to export a midi from BS Zelda, other snes spcs work fine with exportation but not BS Zelda. I can export BS Zelda spcs to soundfont or dls only which is strange.
maybe you have to compile latest VGMtrans from the source code and see if that version helps? they added some other formats in it, especially spc related variations.
Do you know what I really really FUCKING HATE about any of these "playing MIDIs with soundfonts" type deals? They are NEVER EVER FUCKING PERFECT!
WHY THE FUCK DOES IN A SNOWBOUND LAND SOUND LIKE A BUNCH OF RETARDED SCREECHING MANIACS?
WHY THE FUCK IS IT WHEN I SIMPLY EDIT A MIDI, TO MAKE IT SOUND BETTER BY RANDOMLY ADDING AN EXTRA TUNE, WITHOUT ACTUALLY CHANGING ANYTHING TO THE EXISTING TUNE, ALL THE FUCKING SOUNDS JUST DECIDE TO CHANGE TO A PIANO?
But there shouldn't be. I mean, why does it just make EVERY SINGLE INSTRUMENT a piano? I'm copying them, with their program changes, and other settings, like volume, pitch-bend. I'm not simply copying notes. And even then, if I was just copying notes, it should just make them whatever the last program number was. So, explain how the ENTIRE MIDI ends up being piano?
I'm just going to assume it has something to do with the MSB/LSB events? Or the "SystemExclusive ... something GM" ... whatever AnvilStudio says.
Also, can I make the most fucked up insane rant about Anvil Studio?
