Question about Mario Golf World Tour .bcstm files. by Swiftie24 at 12:07 AM EDT on March 31, 2017
So , i found some .bcstm files in Mario Sports Super Stars that contain Golf music , and just like World Tour the files play with horrible noises.

I found out that someone was able to make them work around here , so i was hoping if they could tell me how since im pretty sure the thing is the same because these are files from the same developer which is Camelot.

I just need to know how to make them play without the horrible noise , so i can tell what is what.

Please and thanks.

@Vector Harbor
I think he's referring to the loop points being all fucked up.

3DS Audio ripper.

The files that i found ARE not the ones you probably got btw.

The ones that i think you got were IDSP files that were converted to wav.

IDSP files are the ones found in the game and used in the ''sound'' test and they dont have any issue and thus can be converted to wav properly. The ones i found are used in the actual gameplay , and similar to Mario Golf World Tour they dont play properly.

So , my point: I wanted to know if someone around knows how to play them properly, because the solution must be exactly like World Tour bcstm.

I also had problems inserting new bcstm back inside the game. if you replace one these special bcstm the game boots properly but the music does not play , instead , a horrible noise plays.

Hcs did some inspection on Mario Golf: World Tour's bcstms (IMA ADPCM) and noticed some dummy data blocks in there. I wrote a script years ago to rewrite the audio data, skipping the dummy blocks he mentioned, but I don't have it anymore.

Which file contained the bcstms? fs2.dat? Also, all of the jingles and putting sounds are recycled from Mario Golf: World Tour, so I wouldn't be surprised if they just packed the original files in there.

Hi Soneek!

Thanks for your reply , you have been extremely helpful. I have been very succesful with al the Sport Superstars stuff.

See, in the romfs folder there are various other folders , the one names ''na'' is from NAMCO , and it contains all the sounds they did in IDSP format inside nus3banks.

however i noticed now that there's a folder called ''ca'' for CAMELOT, it has a file called fs.dat

That one has all the sounds CAMELOT did. For music and World Tour voice clips for characters , there's .bcstm archives exactly like they did in past games , that do not play properly.

Tennis voices and SFX are in CWAV format.

There's a CSAR (.bcsar) file inside the fs.dat that contains all of this.

My concern right now is to be able to make custom sounds for these files but it seems like normal .bcstm do not work properly , as i said if you replace the original songs with a new .bcstm created with another tool the song does not play and a horrible static noise plays in it's place.

Is there a way to create a bcstm similar to the ones that Camelot have?

Also if anybody happens to still have that script it will be extremely helpful.

I cannot change the music , but voices can be changed (the ones in bcstm format).

So if someone has that script or a way to play the sounds a in a better quality it would be amazing , i basically just need to be able to tell what sound is what because the static doesn't let me listen properly.
