- So.... :P How long until we can hear MK7's Rainbow Road without engine noises? :P
I assume we'll have a 3ds.joshw.info, when we get enough rips?

- Wow TUK, probably the one and only reason i can't wait for the format to be cracked is the classic Rainbow Road music on MK7... The new instruments make it even better than the original :D
But these engine noises....

- Well there are some pretty good tunes on the 3DS games I have. With certain games, e.g. Kid Icarus: Uprising, Star Fox 64 3D, Ocarina of Time 3D, and Pilotwings Resort, for example, they have official soundtracks released, but as I said before somewhere else, sometimes you're playing a game, and don't really pay attention to the music that much, unless it's notable, but then you hear it with headphones on, with no soundeffects, and think "Wow, this is actually pretty good".
Like with the modern MK7 Rainbow Road theme... with the current line-in recordings, the quality isn't that good. Apart from the SFX and stuff, it sounds like it was recorded through an old radio, and lacks any form of proper bass sound. I'm sure it'd sound much better, and much clearer, with much more bass, if it was a direct rip and not a line-in recording. Having said that, certain line-in recordings can sound pretty good quality, for example...
Super Mario 3D Land: Beach
Super Mario 3D Land: Snow

- TUK: They probably lack bass because the original files in the game lack bass. The composers chose to optimize the music to the speakers and not speakers AND headphones.
Just played the game with headphones, no bass on either of the Rainbow tracks. If you're lucky, they EQ:ued it in code and the files are bass heavy but with Nintendo.. I highly doubt it. They usually take the shortest route possible.

- So, the 3DS (CTR) formats are like the Wii (RVL) formats, except with a 'C' instead of 'R'? E.g.
BRSTM - BCSTM
BRSAR - BCSAR
BRRES - BCRES
RWAV - CWAV?

- pretty much... Need to find out how to rip fast, I need the Dark Moon music.
Since It's a Mario game, they probably won't release an OST.

- I know ocarina of time 3D either uses sequences or something like AIX. Because I was playing in the fire temple and i was getting near an enemy and the battle music came on but it was only the 16th note snare part playing, nothing else. It was kinda funny. Sometimes I can hear the other horn instruments in the background but very very faintly.
