- Just had to check out Sound Effects Series 4000 since it was on WDLmaster's page. Ended up finding this:
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Tournament Fighters
- Track 01 (sample 3, very first part) from Sound Ideas: Sound Series 4000 (Clone Ray laugh FX - I'm pretty sure this is used elsewhere too though, maybe one of Sisyphus' effects)

- Well, The General series 6000, which is even bigger, contains basically EVERY sound you'll ever hear in any game. I cannot even start a list because every other sound is used somewhere. It contains TONS and TONS of sounds used in games, especially from the 90's. Almost all Starcraft Terran sounds are in there, some Zerg sounds, Super Mario 64 sounds, OOT sounds, tons of Thief 1 & 2 sounds, basically every weapon and explosion you ever heard in a game is in there. C&C Tiberian Dawn and Red Alert basically use that library only. I does not matter which sound you chose from that library – you heard it at least once in the last 25 years…

- TvTropes have a matching article. It's named Doom Doors, so naturally we must identify that particular sound.

- That's "General Series 6000" CD 39, Track 26.
The game's sounds are time compressed and split in two parts. The original sound consists of one continuous part.

- @WDLmaster
Holy moley that's a lot of notable sounds.
I wonder if there are credits to the sound designers for such a pack... I mean, as we already know, they did a fantastic job!

- You mean a list of the actual people who recorded the sounds? I'm not sure if such a list exists. We can't even be sure if the aforementioned sample CDs are really the original "first hand" source of all the sounds or if they are just licensed from yet another company or maybe even MANY other companies that did the actual recordings. It's like the voice actors who have to dub entire movies & stuff (German in my case) which are never mentioned anywhere. Most people don’t even know the name of the (German) voice of a certain actor they know for 30 years... but I digress...

- You certainly make a point. And with a pack that large, I'm almost positive there's borrowed sounds.
Well, maybe one of these days this thread will dig up all the original studios. Then maybe we can find out who actually recorded and mastered such prolific sounds!

- Does anybody have a full rip of the Wario World sound effects? And do a number of them go unused?
Because while poking around in the game's files, I extracted wario_gc.samp and plopped it into GoldWave just to see what would happen, and surprisingly I got something resembling a signal. And through the static I heard sounds that I have never heard in the game before.
Including, but not limited to:
A classic burp sound effect
Someone cackling
A stereotypical "tada!" fanfare
And lines I'm not sure Wario's ever said before
If you want to see what I mean, drag & drop the file into GoldWave and decompress it under
File Type: Raw (snd, raw)
Attributes: PCM signed 16 bit, little endian, mono
Rate (Hz): 16000
And turn down your volume. I wasn't kidding when I said there was static. Probably because it's in ADPCM or something like that and doesn't come through cleanly in just PCM.
