A much-requested game is in the automated ripping process as I type, should be ready by morning. Suffice to say it has over 140 tracks (and even more that won't play at the moment...)

[edit]

Doubutsu no Mori (Animal Forest) is up.

There's a 104 track gap that seems to load sequence data but won't play. Are there "secret tracks" that you have to unlock somehow in this game?

And I hate that singing dog.

BEWARE THE SINGING DOG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!111111111111111

Anyways...

I managed to identify a couple of tracks:

0x2b - Menus (when Totakeke asks you to set stuff up)
0x2c - Shop (I can't remember who the name of the shopkeeper was in the Japanese version, but he's the tanuki lookalike)
0x2f - Arrival (when the train gets in) (duplicate is 0x3f)
0x46 - Title Demo

Songs C0 to F9 are all Totakeke's songs.

Notes - The music for the game was composed by Kazumi Tokata, or so track sparsef4 indicates.

Yes, that's right, it's that tune from Mario Paint that Kazumi has put into a lot of games he's worked on. This tune also exists in Zelda 4 - Link's Awakening and Yoshi's Story.

I came across several strange things when doing an analysis of Pokemon Stadium 2.

The first is that i noticed the similarities between it and Yoshis Story are amazing, i would think that a lot of the code was shared between them.

Also because of this i noticed that library routines werent being recognised - maybe because some of them were slightly different.

I manually went in and found __osDisableInt, __osRestoreInt, osViBlack, __osViInit

I am thinking that this might be a different revision of the Library.

My school is still not giving me internet access for infractions last year I have already been punished for. So I'm taking out my anger and free time on ripping.

Paper Mario now up.
I did this the same as as I did Animal Forest, by looking through every function until I found one that looked like a song select. Brute force all the way.
Jet Force Gemini by hcs at 8:51 AM EDT on September 8, 2005
This was the most requested set when I ripped it, yet no one has sent me so much as an incomplete tracklist in two months. Maybe you think someone else will do it... in any case I'd really like to see this tagged. So please, if you think you know the game tag or time it and let me know.

Hcs, I checked your Paper Mario rip and sadly most of the songs are missing. One same song is there 9(!) times. Could you please check that?
Thanks.

missing how? simply not in the list or are some tracks silent?
I suppose it's possible that there's a function for a different bank of sequences... I'll see if I can locate it.

I'm liking the Mischeif Makers sst. It sounds pretty neat so far. Which reminds me. I need to get into gear and add track times/titles to some sets that I've had for awhile (Golden Sun 1 (GSF) mainly comes to mind, though I've been working on Zelda 4 swords (also GSF) and Zelda4: Link's Awakening). If I get on it, perhaps I'll finish those, and start working on Jet Force Gemini (though my ability to add titles will be quite limited, as I've never played the game). Thinking about it, Golden Sun 1 is almost done, the track times are complete to Zelda 8: 4 Swords (if I recall correctly), as is the track times to Zelda 4: LA. That being the case, all I should need is title/artist info for Zelda8 (which could be tough, since I've never played the 4 Swords section, and to do so requires someone else to play with (and there's no one in my area that has it, that I know of))and Zelda4 (which requires another play through of Zelda4 to complete that...). Basically, if I ignore the need for track titles, then I'm more than 50% done... Yah, I'd rather not ignore that info, but I may need to to get these "released" (meaning allow eaiser access to for others to take over where I left off). If I do that, then maybe I can start timing some other sets.

Anyway, yah, I really should be doing more than I am. Perhaps later... When I'm done listening to the sets that are now available (I also thought that Bust a Move '99 was good, or whatever it's called). Mouser X over and out.

No, some songs are not in the list. I've played
the game and made an mp3 rip, so I knew the songs, but many songs are missing in the set (most non-ost songs, but some ost-tracks too).

Weird... there must be another bank I haven't found yet.
as for the song that's repeated 9 times, that's just what's used to fill in blank spaces in the song list.

[edit]
can you tell me somewhere in the game where a song not in this set plays, and maybe email me a save state from this point?
