- On a article I read, it says the sc-88 has 654 patches where Hyper Canvas only has the midi side to it 128 patches.
Also that Nylon Guitar from Kondo was used in Mystical Ninja 64 (output to the game is 44khz). Also has a lot of other awesome Roland samples. I made a rip of both games here if you want to play around with it. Also contains a OoT soundfont I made.

- And does anyone know what the difference is between the SC-88 and SC-88 Pro? Does Pro have any more patches/samples?

- Does anyone know where people get their sound effects? I'm sure most of them are synthesized but still.

- A lot of old games (snes, n64, ps1 and maybe even some to this day) come from various AKAI sample discs. I've heard a few of them in my diggings of AKAI discs. Here are a few. A few from Goldeneye, 1 from DKC3, 1 from OoT, 1 from Bomberman Hero and 1 from Winback. The Accent samples I forgot where they come from and the Ballistic sample comes from Twisted Metal 3.

- The 60.6 VOCAL makes me think of Perfect Dark, sort of but I can't locate it.
Does anybody know what synthesizers and/or libraries that are used in the Castlevania PS2 soundtracks?

- @starerik: it is Perfect Dark. I documented it on VGMdb some months ago. I believe it's Nulify Threat.

- Yeah. Deep Sea music.

- Here's the Roland Fantom X Kontakt library if you have like 7GB to spare.
Unfortunately I'm pretty sure even this is oreally lacking, considering it's pretty much just the programs sampled without any fancy jazz like aftertouch and velocity zones, but I think it's enough to figure some pieces out.
Pretty sure Kondo used FsNylon (with much more articulation in the real thing, presumably) for the Delfino Plaza lead, with NSMBU using the same for its overworld theme, and 2 simultaneous octaves of Sax+Horns for Ricco Harbor.
Overall if you're going to actually make music with it I'd tell you not to bother and try something like Plugsound instead, but if you know for sure there's something you want to find in this synth that someone you know used, then by all means, go ahead. just don't report me or anything, i'm afraid of the cops
Punk7890-2, talking of AKAI disks, do you happen to have the AKAI Sound Library Vol. 1? I'm still looking for more sources Kondo took samples from, so it would be highly appreciated if you could help.

- Assuming you mean "Volume 1 XL", I have it, probably still uploaded even. I can PM it to you on VGMdb.
