- ASCII Pong PreRelease! by PokeParadox at 1:34 PM EST on March 5, 2006
- ASCIIPong Prerelease
It is now a playable state. All the basic pongness is there, apart from AI... so you'll have to erm... play with yourself for now... The source is included.
NOTE: The screen flickers, and you have to maximise the console window. A and Z move the left paddle, K and M move the right paddle.
NOTE2: This is a prerelease version, by that I mean I haven't formally released it on my own site yet. This is because I haven't put together the readmes and made the code as tidy as it ought to be.

- ...and we're back. I noticed that my internet fucked up while I was away, and as a result, UFBot pwned fishbotclone off the net. Anyways, CHEESE

- Well, my second week of the semester is craptacular. I dont like the fact that i have to get up before midday...or on mondays and thursdays even BEFORE THE SUN GETS UP.
Me no like.
Well i kinda literally slept through my C lectures. It was boring as hell...and the lecturer made 7 mistakes. And i was unimpressed when she told us we were using GCC on a 15 year old unix system though telnet. It has no graphic or network capabilities whatsoever which totally ruins my fun.
Well whilst in the labs the others were making programs that did averages of numbers, i ported my blackjack game and played with that to fill my time. Very boring indeed.
Im not going to even say how boring the Database Management Systems classes are. Good thing i had my MP3 player.
P.S. My ISP is now the crappest thing ever. Now it wont even reconise me on the network.

- Whereas I was introduced yesterday to a room full of Sun, Dell, etc. machines of various ages with the expectation that at some point I will know what to do with them to keep things running and update stuff... A little bit overwhelming. But I did get $50 for the day :) And there's a Wizard of Wor machine in there for some reason...

- Well that's, obviusly in case of boredom... Either that or they are trying t make some sort of experimental server ut of it...
@Josh I kinda know what you mean! 3 of our modules now are in Java... I HATE Java... I don't know ANY Java... I can't DO Java.
Not only that.... but we have a Russian Lecturer on Fridays, that no one can understand. e.g. He pronounces "height" as "hate".
Ooooooooon the upside... We are doing 3D GFX this semmester, and I made a cube spin in oGL last week ^_^ I even defined the surfaces of the cube myself.

- Ah, that reminds me, the RU Student Linux Users Group will have a presentation involving OpenGL tonight, I may have forgotten it. The guy who did a presentation on Firefox extensions last week recently won the Extend Firefox contest.
I used GLUT once, in high school, to do some simple stuff (we designed and implemented a 2D visual scripting language, which we called Fauntleroy because the minimal requirement was that it could render a Mickey Mouse head), but never done much in the way of 3D.

- I got a new computer given to me just today. Its running really shit-slower than i'd expect, but that might be just XP. Im gunna install linux on it later.
BTW it is a 4x CPU Pentium Pro 200Mhz with 256Mb ram and 20Gb of scsi hdds, and i think it weighs more than i do.
WinXP (according to the Task Manager) only reported that it had 2 cpu's. I wonder if it didnt detect the 2 others and werent using them and that would make it run slowz.
Anyway, Knoppix live on CD found all 4 and so i might install that...although im gunna have to put in a graphics card because the onboard gfx suck big time...it could only do 640x480x256 colors.
