Spyro 2 finds by sirsoundfont at 1:46 PM EDT on July 21, 2017
I found a couple sounds from Distorted Reality that were used as songs in Spyro 2. "Summer Forest" is Liquid Crown from Distorted Reality, "Autumn Plains" is Paradise, and "Winter Tundra" is Luminize.

Okay; so I've done some of my own investigating, and for now I've come to the conclusion that the KORG Trinity might not have what I'm looking for after all. That being said, if anyone here who has an SD-90/SC-8850 is willing to make audio demos for all 30 of the drum sets said to be included in that sound library, that would be awesome.

Anybody know the origin of the piano sound heard throughout Super Smash Bros (N64, see example below)?

@palo_alto
That's 64voicePiano from the JV-1080.

This patch from the Proteus 2 sounds very similar to a couple sound effects from Castlevania: Symphony of the Night and maybe even the Playstation console BIOS fanfare.
This patch from the Proteus FX sounds similar to the percussion in the beginning of The Inner Shrine from Tekken 4. Was looking for this patch a couple months ago, hopefully this is actually it.

I did extensive searching through the M1 VST, and I still didn't find what I was looking for. It's the flute-ish synth that plays in this: https://youtu.be/XrpOMXcPYe4?t=6 (any help is greatly appreciated)

I think the patch in the song is layered, too, with a Popcorn-style patch

"and maybe even the Playstation console BIOS fanfare."

I got *so* excited when I read this; I've spent years obsessing over this sound (which, to my mind, is one of the most mysterious and evocative sounds in all of gaming), trying to work out what synths were used in its creation. All I've managed to find out so far is that the two high resonance synth sounds in the opening section *might* possibly be the Roland D50 patch 'Spacious Sweep':

SynthMania

Anyway, I tested the Proteus 2 patch against the PlayStation BIOS sound and, unfortunately, it doesn't seem to be the one. The sound was designed by Takashi Fujisawa, one of the founders of SCE. He also composed for the generative music game Depth (aka Fluid in PAL territories) so if anybody can recognize the synths used here we might be able to identify some more patches.

@G-Boy
Thanks! How do you know it's from the JV-1080? Initially I thought it might be 'NicePiano', also from the 1080, but I think '64VoicePiano' is right.

@palo_alto

I think the JV1080 have a similar preset to that, it might be in presets somewhere.
