Fat Princess rip by DarkSolidSnake at 9:13 PM EDT on June 27, 2023
Today i ripped the BGM from the PS3 (PSN) version of Fat Princess.

While in the ripping process, i came across some unplayable .bnk files containing partial stream names and ADPCM data. I extracted ADPCM data, merged it, and converted to .GENH format, then put stream names.

At the same day, i released two updates as to fix 2 issues, first was stream name fixes, now fixes for half-sized interleave. Anyway, HCS64 or bnnm needs to always choose the latest version. Thanks

Update: bnnm labeled those original packs i made as "Upload original files"!? Now i'm done. I have to make the final update, then label it as unplayable. sigh, i'm done ripping this BGM from that trainwreck of a PSN game.

just post the updates here instead of uploading them to the VGM repo

@DarkSolidSnake - Please read the general upload rules posted here:
https://hcs64.com/mboard/forum.php?showthread=26929&showpage=413#post_63152
also the response at ETH_shiniori's complaints:
https://hcs64.com/mboard/forum.php?showthread=26929&showpage=414#post_63211
(also the top of the pending upload list...)

Specially the bit about data must be original format. That means avoiding stuff like hex-editting files or mixing parts of files + pasting a GENH just to force them into playing. Please, don't do that.

There are enough ways to play unplayable or uncommon files (TXTP + changing sample rate or TXTH + name list) without resorting to that. Or just post the bug report or question here/discord and wait a bit, there is no rush. No point in uploading a mutant rip or calling something "[unplayable] music_07_newpork" when it'll be fixed in a week or two. Also avoid GENH and use TXTH, as GENH is outdated and hard to guess data is original or not.

Like EHT_shiniori says, you can post just them in the forum instead of joshw, if you are somehow offended about those rules or myself. I however think they are a minor annoyance and it's better to collaborate with others in building a good quality archive.
(if one can appreciate the amount of time and work that others have put into vgmstream, joshw and the queue, maybe following some rules isn't that much)
A few notes from DarkSolidSnake: by DarkSolidSnake at 3:44 PM EST on February 9, 2025
PlayStation Move Ape Escape:

A year ago, i ripped the BGM from PlayStation Move Ape Escape. Here are a few notes:

In the PSN version the .psarc.edat archives outside of the JP/EU/ASiA disc versions are basically PSARC files encrypted to .edat files. To extract .psarc.edat from PSN version use a tool like TrueAncestor EDAT Rebuilder with the correct EDAT key (extract with PS3HEN or CFW to cfw_settings.log or use .rap) to decrypt .edat to readable .psarc files, then use a tool like quickbms script brink.bms to extract the individual archives. The .sgb files are stored in sound.psarc and header files are stored in target.psarc.

An old rip for the game was uploaded between 2016 and 2018. My rip for the game covers all tracks from the overseas version plus Japanese exclusive tracks. If you do not know the name of the Japanese title song; It's actually called Muchu! Saru Gecchu [ムチュー!サルゲッチュ]. I found the info straight from the credits of the game. The lead vocal is performed by Naoko Maeda who is a member at Studio Peach or SMEJ at the time. The song and chorus was also composed by Hajime Hyakkoku (aka F.M.F), who did the same for Yappari Saru Gecchu, the Japanese title song for Ape Escape 2, 3, and SaruSaru Big Mission. In the English version, the song title is simply called Ape Escape and it was converted to an instrumental with a synth lead replacing the vocals and the chorus being removed.

Namco System 357/369 rips:

I ripped the BGM from two Namco System 357/369 games; Deadstorm Pirates Special Edition and Sailor Zombie ~AKB48 Arcade Edition~.

Ape Escape 2 (my upcoming update for Grin's rip):

The original rip was done by Grin back in 2022, the author of the original rip managed to hack Matrixz's Wild Arms 2 driver to play the sequenced data that is decompressed from .BIN files. Anyway, the original rip is missing streamed tracks. I decided to post my update to the forums soon because my update is larger than 1GB. Expect it soon!

Today i ripped the BGM from the final version of Namco Museum Essentials. The old rip covers the beta/demo version. The old rip should be renamed like this

Namco Museum Essentials Trial [Namco Museum BETA] [PSN](2008)(-)(Bandai Namco)[PS3]
