Twilight Princess! by Omochao at 5:15 AM EST on December 3, 2006
The music on the GCN disk is in .AST format, but it doesn't play right. Some files don't play at all, and others have LOTS of static.

The files themselves are similar to those from Mario Kart:Double Dash. I hope you can make them play, as this is a soundtrack in high demand.

Here are a few .ASTs from Twilight Princess:

Hate to be a bother, but are there any torrent/download links of the DSP music files for Wind Waker or Mario Kart: Double Dash, or even the PCM rips from Sega Saturn's CV:SoTN? I'd rip them myself, but I don't have a DVD drive.
Israeli close-sources his Wiimote drivers for fears of casualties by unknownfile at 1:11 AM EST on December 10, 2006
Read below... and you will laugh.

(00:43:42) CarlKenner: The picture in BlueSoleil looks like a remote.
(00:43:45) squeakypants: it's a simple find and replace, but that makes most scripts broken ;)
(00:43:55) CarlKenner: But it should report itself as a HID gamepad.
(00:44:21) Ch0p: I'm using the vodcomm stack and in device manager
(00:44:22) CarlKenner: RawForceX, RawForceY, and RawForceZ still work exactly the same.
(00:44:30) Ch0p: it shows up as a bluetooth remote control
(00:44:36) squeakypants: cool
(00:45:09) Ch0p: every keypress sends 8 bytes down
(00:45:44) Ch0p: seems like every action sends 8 bytes
(00:46:08) Ch0p: connecting a classic or nunchuk also sends 8 bytes
(00:46:20) CarlKenner: It should show up under Human Interface Devices.
(00:46:26) e-Hernick: CarlKenner: did you reply to my privmsg? If you're not registered with nickserv I can't receive them.
(00:46:37) CarlKenner: I replied.
(00:46:46) CarlKenner: I'm not registed with nickserv, I guess.
(00:46:59) Ch0p: yeah, under HID it's a remote
(00:47:19) The-8: hmm.. anyone messed with changing the wiimote.channel ?
(00:47:34) Ch0p: ?
(00:47:56) CarlKenner: e-Hernick, if I give you my code, will you add a viral non-military, no-export-to-israel license?
(00:48:11) JesterDev [n=Snake@c-67-174-98-36.hsd1.co.comcast.net] entered the room.
(00:48:12) e-Hernick: CarlKenner: I will not use your code directly
(00:48:28) Virtualball: CarlKenner, why not to Israel?
(00:48:31) e-Hernick: CarlKenner: I only intend to read your code and be inspired from this. Perhaps I will translate some of your algorithms to Python to integrate them to WMD
(00:48:35) undacova: whats with the no israel thing?
(00:48:42) e-Hernick: CarlKenner: But I will not use any part of your code directly
(00:49:07) The-8: i set wiimote.channel = wiimote.channel +1 and it only goes up from 51 to 60 or so..
(00:49:43) CarlKenner: Then I'll just explain how I do things rather than providing code.
(00:49:55) The-8: but certain cases of moving the nunchuck makes it advance to 255 and die
(00:50:21) CarlKenner: The-8, that's interesting.
(00:50:27) e-Hernick: CarlKenner: I am dismayed by your refusal.
(00:50:35) e-Hernick: I just don't see what you have to lose
(00:50:36) Ch0p: I think you need to send some kind of activation bit
(00:50:40) e-Hernick: I mean, what's the worse that can happe
(00:50:41) Knoton left the room (quit: ).
(00:50:42) Ch0p: to get classic or nunchuk
(00:50:54) The-8: i cant always consistently repeat it though.. what is the site for the pastebin stuff?
(00:50:56) CarlKenner: What I have to lose is preventing people from being killed.
(00:51:03) e-Hernick: I sell WMD to the IAF and they use code inspired by yours to die?
(00:51:11) e-Hernick: that's crazy
(00:51:14) e-Hernick: WMD is harmless
(00:51:26) e-Hernick: it's just code
(00:51:32) Ch0p: terrorists using wiimotes to guide missles
(00:51:32) e-Hernick: for the Wiimote, nothing else.
(00:51:33) Ch0p: rofl
(00:51:34) abionnnn: its a WMD :P
(00:51:40) Ch0p: missiles
(00:51:47) abionnnn: fire ze wiimotes
(00:51:59) CarlKenner: Nevertheless, being harmless isn't enough. It needs to be proactive to protect the weak and defenseless, otherwise the strong prevail.
(00:52:17) Virtualball: If anyone wants to know
(00:52:23) Virtualball: tuxido is in #Wiili
(00:52:31) shinigami: e-HernicK: good news!
(00:52:33) CarlKenner: Anyway, trust me, there isn't any info in the code that isn't on the wiki.
(00:52:46) shinigami: I have 1DM -> 2DM transitioning smoothly
(00:52:50) CarlKenner: Except the fact that I think the X axis is backwards.
(00:53:16) CarlKenner: But I haven't drawn a new diagram.
(00:53:19) shinigami: and I know how to do 1DM1 -> 2DM -> 1DM2 and vice versa, I think
(00:53:22) e-Hernick: CarlKenner: I can add a warning to the WMD header, in order to be proactive in protecting the weak.. Let's see. "WMD Warning: You are Strongly Advised not to use this Software to Kill or Destroy Anything or Anyone. Use of this Software for Military Purposes is NOT RECOMMENDED."
(00:53:30) e-Hernick: CarlKenner: would that be enough?
(00:53:55) e-Hernick: I mean, the different between your warning and mine
(00:54:00) abionnnn: killing people not recommended... lol :D
(00:54:00) e-Hernick: is that I know people won't listen to me
(00:54:09) e-Hernick: And I don't have a grudge against Israel
(00:54:41) e-Hernick: I remember that linux audio synthesizer software
(00:54:49) e-Hernick: zynaddsubfx
(00:54:51) e-Hernick: or something like that
(00:54:55) CarlKenner: It's not for you to decide, it is for the majority of people from Israel to decide. And the majority of people from Israel are non-jewish palestinians.
(00:55:09) e-Hernick: anyway it had a license that said "YOU CAN'T USE THIS SOFTWARE TO MAKE MUSIC THAT IS AGAINST JESUS"
(00:55:09) CarlKenner: Anyway, I can't discuss it here.
(00:55:25) e-Hernick: CarlKenner: It's not for you to decide who can use your software or not
(00:55:49) e-Hernick: CarlKenner: people will use it just to spite you, and people will feel spite for you for asking for what you have no control over
(00:56:04) CarlKenner: People can't use it to spite me. It has copy protection.
(00:56:16) CarlKenner: It won't run inside Israel.
(00:56:16) e-Hernick: horrible, horrible.
(00:56:22) Ch0p: rofl
(00:56:24) abionnnn: lol
(00:56:25) Ch0p: it calls home?
(00:56:29) CarlKenner: No.
(00:56:36) CarlKenner: No privacy violations.
(00:56:38) Watercan: but i don't believe we extraadite people from isares for breach of licence...
(00:56:39) e-Hernick: it has a timebomb
(00:56:43) abionnnn: they can always just fake their hostname can't they?
(00:56:44) e-Hernick: it explodes if it detects that it's in israel
(00:56:51) CarlKenner: No hostile code either.
(00:56:54) e-Hernick: so you say
(00:56:57) e-Hernick: but you won't say your code
(00:57:03) Ch0p: Error: You live in isreal
(00:57:09) Watercan: lol
(00:57:10) e-Hernick: Ch0p: and then your computer reformats
(00:57:10) CarlKenner: It just shows you a web page and exits in Israel.
(00:57:20) e-Hernick: Ch0p: it accesses the web to register the violator with CarlKenner
(00:57:23) Virtualball: CarlKenner, do you hate Jews or sumtin?
(00:57:24) CarlKenner: The web page explains the boycott.
(00:57:25) e-Hernick: so he can as he promised, sue them
(00:57:42) abionnnn: not everyone in israel supports their murdereous government
(00:57:42) Watercan: see if you get www.google.israel
(00:57:44) Ch0p: carlkenner: and the geniouses at the idf can't reverse engineer the single instruction that checks?
(00:57:46) e-Hernick: Well, I think that GlovePIE is dangerous software that will call back home if it feels you're an israeli
(00:57:49) Ch0p: change the jmp to a nop
(00:57:55) CarlKenner: The web page is a public web page, not owned by me, so I can't tell who accesses it.
(00:57:55) Ch0p: hit it with a little nop slide
(00:58:02) Ch0p: slap that nop on there
(00:58:04) e-Hernick: There is no idea as to what GlovePIE really does
(00:58:20) e-Hernick: It has a black box of discriminatory code
(00:58:20) CarlKenner: Actually you can (and should) use a firewall.
(00:58:21) Watercan: what about the peaceful israelis? don't you want them to put down thier arms and play with their wii's?
(00:58:25) e-Hernick: which can destroy anything
(00:58:42) abionnnn: I know a few israelis who detest the actions of their government, how are they handled in the license? :P
(00:58:58) Watercan: is that why it's not open source?
(00:58:58) Ch0p: it can detect the detestment
(00:59:01) e-Hernick: abionnnn: they are denied use of GlovePIE..
(00:59:03) CarlKenner: They can't use it until they are successful in their protests.
(00:59:11) wiiaustralia left the room.
(00:59:12) abionnnn: Hehehe
(00:59:14) Virtualball: dude, I have a friend who is from Israel and she's awsome, and hot! And I'm Jewish too
(00:59:16) squeakypants: you guys don't bother
(00:59:18) abionnnn: fair enough
(00:59:21) e-Hernick: abionnnn: look, perhaps in Israel the resistance movement would succeed at overthrowing the regime if they had access to GlovePIE
(00:59:26) Ch0p: Virtualball: you've just been added to the blacklist
(00:59:28) squeakypants: carlkenner is a brick when it comes to this (I've tried and you all know already)
(00:59:29) Ch0p: aka the jewlist
(00:59:34) CarlKenner: People from Israel can use it, just not inside israel.
(00:59:35) abionnnn: e-Hernick: lol :P
(00:59:38) squeakypants: lol ch0p
(00:59:39) Virtualball: Ch0p, :(
(00:59:46) squeakypants: i'm part of that list!
(00:59:50) Virtualball: Lucky I use Macs
(00:59:53) Watercan: schindler's list?
(00:59:53) e-Hernick: CarlKenner should SHARE HIS CODE
(00:59:59) Ch0p: agreed
(01:00:04) Virtualball: agreed
(01:00:05) squeakypants: e-Hernick: squeakypants should AGREE
(01:00:06) shinigami: agreed
(01:00:07) abionnnn: Mac = Jewish system :P
(01:00:07) Virtualball: seriously
(01:00:08) squeakypants: and he does :)
(01:00:12) Ch0p: CarlKenner: what if I reverse engineer the lock out of it and release a version for isreal?
(01:00:13) CarlKenner: CarlKenner shares his specs.
(01:00:20) Virtualball: you're only killing the community
(01:00:28) e-Hernick: GlovePIE is closed source software with HIDDEN ANTI-ISRAEL CODE... Until we have the source code, we cannot trust glovePIE.
(01:00:28) Ch0p: would you change your mind
(01:00:32) Ch0p: after seeing how futile it is
(01:00:43) squeakypants: lol
(01:00:44) Ch0p: if not I really won't bother
(01:00:48) Ch0p: unless someone in isreal requests it
(01:01:07) Ch0p: but more likely than not it's a trivial thing to do
(01:01:11) squeakypants: hey Carlkenner: http://69.46.18.147/index.php/User:Squeakypants/sandbox
(01:01:15) squeakypants: my code is back up!
(01:01:17) e-Hernick: CarlKenner: you have brought these issues to the community.. As much as we appreciate your contributions to the wiki.. your refusal to share code and your license terms are a moral problem to us all
(01:01:39) abionnnn: its up to him
(01:01:42) CarlKenner: I know. But I have a moral problem with your license agreement.
(01:01:48) Ch0p: you hate freedom?
(01:01:51) abionnnn: there's a thing called freedom :P
(01:01:51) Ch0p: me too.
(01:01:53) e-Hernick: CarlKenner: you have a moral problem with every license agreement that isn't bigoted
(01:02:07) squeakypants: carlkenner: go to http://69.46.18.147/index.php/User:Squeakypants/sandbox#Test_Rotation and test it for me :)
(01:02:09) CarlKenner: Yes I hate freedom for the powerful, because it prevents freedom for the weak.
(01:02:20) abionnnn: e-Hernick: to be exact, its not bigoted
(01:02:21) Virtualball: Im sorry, but I'd rather wait for another program then use GlovePIE
(01:02:22) e-Hernick: CarlKenner: you hate the GPL and the public domain (under which I both license my code freely) as much as you have a problem with MICROSOFT and every other computer company for selling to Israel
(01:02:30) abionnnn: e-Hernick: he's not targetting a race/religion, just a location
(01:02:31) e-Hernick: CarlKenner: your problem isn't with freedom
(01:02:39) Ch0p: HE HATES JEWS OK
(01:02:40) Virtualball: it spreads hate
(01:02:40) Ch0p: LAY OFF
(01:02:43) e-Hernick: CarlKenner: you hate all licenses equally, no?
(01:02:44) Ch0p: LET HIM HATE WHO HE WANTS
(01:02:44) squeakypants: lol
(01:02:53) Watercan: but it is a location of a religion/race
(01:02:54) CarlKenner: Ch0p, don't let people hate jews.
(01:03:00) e-Hernick: Ch0p: should be tolerate intolerance?
(01:03:06) squeakypants: NOW you guys side with me :-P
(01:03:15) abionnnn: he could have easily said south africa a few years ago
(01:03:21) abionnnn: and many of you would have supported him
(01:03:28) Watercan: why?
(01:03:30) e-Hernick: abionnnn: no
(01:03:31) ***undacova reads up
(01:03:36) e-Hernick: I support freedom for all
(01:03:37) Watercan: lol
(01:03:39) e-Hernick: even Kim Jong Il
(01:03:42) vkapadia: i really dont care. as long as the glovepie updates keep coming, and working for me, he can have all the anti-israel crap he wants
(01:03:42) Ch0p: I don't care the reasons behind it
(01:03:46) Virtualball: Im sorry but I can't support something that supports hatred
(01:03:47) abionnnn: e-Hernick: me too
(01:03:50) Ch0p: vkapadia: it dosen't work for me though
(01:03:51) shinigami: dude
(01:03:54) Ch0p: and therin lies the problem
(01:03:55) e-Hernick: I license my code freely to Kim Jong Il...
(01:03:56) Ch0p: It could work
(01:03:57) Ch0p: easily
(01:04:02) e-Hernick: shinigami: do you have victory>
(01:04:04) squeakypants: ch0p: the thing is
(01:04:07) Ch0p: but I can't even tinker to fix it
(01:04:08) squeakypants: he isn't being antisemetic
(01:04:08) shinigami: how about we stop bickering and play with a goddamn wiimote :D
(01:04:09) shinigami: yes
(01:04:13) shinigami: i do indeed
(01:04:17) e-Hernick: shinigami: can you send me the latest version?
(01:04:18) squeakypants: he's just being stupid :-P
(01:04:20) Ch0p: shinigami: sure, I'll get right on it
(01:04:24) squeakypants: but it's not harmful
(01:04:27) Ch0p: wait
(01:04:33) CarlKenner: Anyway, do some research about Israel and you will understand why it is in the same category as South Africa was.
(01:04:41) shinigami: e-Hernick: just a second
(01:04:43) Ch0p: CarlKenner: regaurdless of the reasons for it
(01:04:44) CarlKenner: The boycott isn't permanent.
(01:04:45) e-Hernick: CarlKenner: do you think that Israel is much worse than North Koeran
(01:04:48) squeakypants: so I figure his help is worth more than me giving a fuck about an issue that really doesn't matter
(01:04:48) Ch0p: don't you think it's futile?
(01:04:57) squeakypants: ch0p: that's the point
(01:04:59) squeakypants: it's futile
(01:05:00) CarlKenner: Yes I do think it is much worse than North Korea!
(01:05:07) e-Hernick: wtf
(01:05:07) squeakypants: so it's not worth giving a fuck
(01:05:12) CarlKenner: North Korean NEVER EVER invaded anyone.
(01:05:12) shinigami: e-Hernick: I have 1DMx -> 2DM -> 1DMx down but not 1DM1 -> 2DM -> 1DM2
(01:05:16) Virtualball: whoah
(01:05:17) vkapadia: i'm with squeakypants on this
(01:05:19) Watercan: then why can nkoreans use it?
(01:05:24) squeakypants: vkapadia: right on
(01:05:25) Virtualball: CarlKenner, they are testing nuclear devices
(01:05:26) abionnnn: except South Korea ... :P j/k
(01:05:32) Ch0p: CarlKenner: I think we should boycot use in the US
(01:05:35) Ch0p: for invading iraq
(01:05:37) abionnnn: Virtualball: israel has nuclear weapons and signed up to the NPT
(01:05:39) CarlKenner: They are the same country
(01:05:43) abionnnn: Virtualball: so that's a moot point at best
(01:05:44) CarlKenner: Anyway, I'm going.
(01:05:46) e-Hernick: same country
(01:05:49) squeakypants: carlkenner: wait, wha?
(01:05:53) CarlKenner: Do some research and you will understand.
(01:05:54) e-Hernick: CarlKenner: HAS BANNED USE OF GLOVEPIE IN THE USA
(01:05:57) Virtualball: and said a few years back "we have rockets that have the ability to reach the west coast of the US"
(01:05:59) CarlKenner left the room (quit: ).
(01:06:04) e-Hernick: CarlKenner HAS SAID: USA IS THE SAME COUNTRY AS ISRAEL.
(01:06:05) squeakypants: you guys scared him away
(01:06:08) Ch0p: man
(01:06:09) e-Hernick: THEREFORE GLOVEPIE IS BANNED IN THE USA
(01:06:12) Ch0p: I don't understand that
(01:06:13) undacova: lol
(01:06:14) squeakypants: no he was saying north and south korea
(01:06:20) Virtualball: dude
(01:06:22) shinigami: that was really funny
(01:06:24) Ch0p: I have to go drop another 50 dollars on a different brand of bluetooth dongle
(01:06:24) Virtualball: hes crazy
(01:06:24) shinigami: hahahaha
(01:06:29) Ch0p: because he won't fucking open source his code
(01:06:36) e-Hernick: I've asked him repeatedly to see his code
(01:06:39) Ch0p: because he thinks the IDF is going to use WIIMOTES TO BLOW UP PEOPLE
(01:06:41) Ch0p: what the fuck
(01:06:43) Ch0p: like really
UF's adventures in BMS by unknownfile at 11:17 AM EST on December 15, 2006
This thread created by popular request.

BMS (aka JaiSeq) is a sequence format from Gamecube games. As you are all aware, I have been doing analysis on the format for a while.

Known types of JaiSeq archives:
- SeqBank (.arc files) (Super Mario Sunshine, Luigi's Mansion)
- RARC (.arc files) (Zelda WW, Twilight Princess)

For games that use JaiSeq, take a look at the GC stream database, JaiSeq-powered games are usually identified as having "AW" files.

The purpose of this thread is to analyze the formats used by JaiSeq, including AW (samples), AAC (init files), BMS (sequences), and integrate support in in_cube.

More stuff coming soon.

Okay. I used all of the emulators available, but they are not working. I believe I'm missing a plug-in.
Merry Christmas '06! by unknownfile at 12:55 AM EST on December 25, 2006

Merry Christmas!

In other news, we're about 1 1/2 years old! We'll turn 2 in April. Hoorah!

As for my presents: I will be getting my wisdom teeth removed Wednesday, and I will also be getting the funding ($300) to do stuff with, hopefully to buy more computerstuffs.

Lastly, if you have the time, drop in at #usf on Freenode. I'll be there most of today, but my grandparents will be distracting me from my computerworkstuffs.

Enjoy the holidays, and don't whip people over Boxing Day deals.

Resident Evil SND format by MarkGrass at 12:00 AM EST on December 28, 2006
BioHazard Rebirth uses the same sound formats found in BioHazard Zero, only they are archived into a single file with SND extension.

The sound formats are as follows:
POO
PRO
SAM
SDI
SON

//======//
//Header//
//======//
Offset    Size     Description
-----------------------------
0x00    4    //POO Offset
0x04    4    //POO Size
0x08    4    //PRO Offset
0x0C    4    //PRO Size
0x10    4    //SDI Offset
0x14    4    //SDI Size
0x20    4    //SON Offset
0x24    4    //SON Size
0x28    4    //SAM Offset
0x2C    4    //SAM Size
0x30    4    //Dummy Size
0x34    4    //SND ID

Defined offsets and sizes are in hex value.

//==========//
//Dummy Size//
//==========//
4bytes: Determines how many dummy bytes are located in the SND archive. After every POO, PRO, SAM, SDI, and SON data, there is system reserved dummy bytes usually beginning with the hex value "FDFD FDFD".

//======//
//SND ID//
//======//
4bytes: Determines the ID number of the SND file.

EXAMPLE:
The file SG0A.SND defines offset 0x34 as "0000 000A".
The file SG15.SND defines offset 0x34 as "0000 0015".

Now to crack the POO, PRO, SAM, SDI, and SON formats...;)

extracting files from .rar by stevens at 12:19 PM EST on January 3, 2007
hi!

i'm really new to this underground internet world of video game stuff (omg! :D) and when i discovered that i could play n64 songs through my computer my head nearly fell off with excitement.

however, although ive got some of the soundtracks to work (super mario 64!!) using winamp and 64th note these have been contained in zip files and i dont know how to extract songs from .rar. windows doesnt recognize .rar and winamp doesnt see .rar as a folder it sees is as an unplayable file. I'm sure this is a really easy problem with a simple explanation but i dont know how to fix it :S

the site is marvellous though and the music within it fantastic. the n64 and snes are still the best consoles! ever!
