But no files were extracted.

Is that normal?

Thanks for replies :)

Yoshi's Island DS Music Hack... by mikehaggar at 9:40 AM EST on February 5, 2007
Hey guys...I'm new here...but it seems like a fun site!

Recently I've bee playing Yoshi's Island DS. Although the game itself is really good, I'm having trouble stomaching the music. Compared to the original game for the SNES, the music in this game is absolutely horrendous. I feel it really does change the experience of the game! So I'm wondering...does anybody out there have the skills to create a hack of this game that uses the music from the original Yoshi's Island?? Is this even possible??

What do you guys think? I'd personally send anybody here that can pull it off 10 bucks! (Not much, I know...but if others chip in, it could be quite lucrative!)...it's worth it to me as it would improve the entire gameplay experience 10 fold!

So what do you guys think? If this is impossible, I will put my idea to rest.....

I can't seem to play USF files on winamp, now that I have 64th note plugin. Anyone can help me out here? =\ Much appreciated.
Ikaruga Request by Blade at 7:15 PM EST on February 7, 2007
This has been bothering me for some time now, but I've been wondering if there's some way to get the Vox rips from this game, if not the individual Sound FX.

I know somebody riped the Dreamcast Audio ages ago, but I'd still like to know if the Gamecube Audio Vox samples can be ripped/recorded without the music garbling them up.
missing mario usf by stevens at 4:30 PM EST on February 8, 2007
hey again

i was listening to the super mario 64 soundtrack the other day and it hit me that one of my favourite tracks was missing-the BGM for the watery levels (technical term!!) i.e. jolly roger bay, dry dry docks. cheers to anyone who can do it!!

thanks for all the soundtracks-some of these really do bring back memories! can't wait for the finished versions of mario golf, banjo kazooie, snowboard kids and banjo tooie ;)

The Official 2sf/NDS Music/HN Thread by unknownfile at 11:41 AM EST on February 14, 2007
Because "Yoshi's Island DS Music hack" was getting a bit off topic, here it is!

The format has yet to be released; in the meantime, go use VGMTrans until I sort this crap out.

FORMAT SPECIFICATION:

Version byte 0x91 (might be subject to change)
Reserved section - SR64-format Desmume uncompressed savestate (dumped by Desmume 2SF)
Code section - zlib-compressed ROM

Reserved section MUST start with either "CODE" or "PATCH" otherwise it is consider invalid.

CODE specifies a savestate (which is immediately followed by an SR64 header, then the Desmume savestate header). PATCH should be only used in mini2sfs. The syntax is:

5 bytes: ASCII "PATCH"
Next byte: 01 (register) or 00 (memory offset)

If byte is 01:
Next byte: Register (r0 is 0, r1 is 1, etc)
Next 4 bytes: signed u32 data

If byte is 00:
Next 4 bytes: signed u32 offset
Next 4 bytes: signed u32 data

Further progress on the format, player, or rips will be posted here.
SPC - tool for batch tagging and timing? by valiant at 4:51 PM EST on February 16, 2007
I guess this may be the best forum to ask that because it is the most technical oriented message board about VGM I know.

Anyway, is there a batch tool for tagging and timing SPC files? Something along the lines of PSFpoint, just for SPCs.
The only thing I could find was SPC-Edit but I can't get it to run at the moment and won't try to solve the problem as it seems to not have batch support either.
Stuck USF Sets Needing A Push by unknownfile at 9:38 AM EST on February 20, 2007
This is a current update on the status of the USF preliminaries since hcs is too lazy to update the FAQ in more depth.

There are some sets on USF Central which cannot be finalized as the rippers credited have since disappeared. The sets in question are:

- Banjo Kazooie
- Both Castlevanias
- Bust A Move 99
- Kirby 64
- Rayman 2

As of yet, Banjo Kazooie is the only set that can be a good candidate for releasing thanks to ugetab's efforts.

There are also sets without tags. These sets cannot be finalized as of yet due to this issue (I mean, what kind of song title is "sparse03"?!) Sets that don't even have tagging of some sort include:

- All of the Japanese games I ripped (64 Trump Collection, Onegai Monsters, etc)
- Quite a bit of Josh's rips (excluding Banjo Tooie and Conker's Bad Fur Day, see below)
- Getter Love
- Hybrid Heaven

Last, but not least, let's not forget those unoptimized/experimental rips! These sets are:

- Banjo Tooie (dynamic tracks not working correctly, the tempo is off)
- Blues Brothers 2000 (badly optimized)
- Conker's Bad Fur Day (lacks optimization, some tracks don't work, eg Worship)
- Dynamix First Intro (crap overall, will never be finalized)
- Dynamix Congrats Split (crap overall, will never be finalized)
- Fire Electric Pen (VERY BADLY OPTIMIZED)
- Gauntlet Legends (Josh's first MusyX rip, I'm not sure what the status of this is)
- Nintama Rantarou 64 (one of the generic driver rips, which may or may not suck)
- Robotech Crystal Dreams (was a pain in the ass to rip, I'm not going to bother with a rerip unless I am bored enough)

That's all I can think of for now. Get tagging!

~ A very frustrated person who is too lazy to finalize his own sets
B-T dynamic split help? by P_L at 3:18 PM EST on February 22, 2007
I'm a relative n00b when it comes to hex editing (I can do basic stuff in some games such as text editing, but that's all), and I'd very much like to be able to get my Banjo-Tooie USFs to have dynamic splits ... but I have no idea what to do with the values in ugetab's list here ... can someone give me instructions? :( I'm not too good with the technical terminology in hex editing, so you may have to dumb it down a bit for me to be able to understand it.
