- UF, you hadn't optimized the Mawaru GSF pack. Saves about 6 MB of the space, so if you'd be interested I could put the file somewhere. ;)

- MAME Sound Format
- by F3582 at 6:27 PM EDT on September 7, 2006
- Something like M1 for Winamp, right?
- by Josh W at 8:02 PM EDT on September 7, 2006
- Yes, but in addition to be ableing to play M1 files, it will be able to play other games from mame.
here is samply. Yes, i know about the bugs and crashes and memory leaks. The mame.dll needs to be in the winamp main directory.

- That MSF sounds good. One benefit of ripping the music as MSFs is that it can be distributed without having to deal with the issues of hosting a ROM. (As is the case with M1.)
Good Job!

- Thanks for the WW Twisted file, but at least I think the microgames should have the US names. Just a thought.
No US songs? Wel, I guess I can record them off my emulator. ^_^
Still no news on the sequenced Gamecube format?
- by Mouser X at 8:54 PM EDT on September 9, 2006
- Definatly still no news on a GC sequence format. No one here knows [EDIT]much, if[/EDIT] anything about the sound hardware of the GC, and there's no emulators, anywhere, that emulate the GC's audio hardware either. When you see a GC emulator that plays music (other than streamed stuff), then you can ask that question again. Because, at that time, it means that someone has successfully emulated the GC SPU, and therefore a GC sound format is somewhat feasible (though, you'll still most likely need people knowledgeable enough that they can rip such games, so that will slow things down as well).
So, keep your eyes open on GC emulators. I've heard good things about Gekko, but it's not out yet. Do a search on emutalk for more info on Gekko (or Gecco, I don't remember). Though, I wouldn't get my hopes up on that one either. I haven't heard anything that implies it will successfully emulate the GC SPU (not that it won't, but I don't have any good reasons to beleive that it will. At least for the first release).
Hope that answers that question.
[EDIT](still part of the one above) Apparently UNKOWNFILE knows a little bit (more even?) about the software end, but there's still not enough, if any, information on the hardware to make a format (and player) likely. Sorry for my misinformation. Mouser X over and out.

- Agufungus:
I absolutely *despise* the US version of Mawaru Wario. It is so bad that it's close to what 4Kids Entertainment is doing to One Piece - that's how bad it is. At least it keeps the original music though.
Also, there is a specific sequencer used - it's called JaiSeq, and runs using AW sample banks. It's been used in Luigi's Mansion and ZeldaWW.
