- HW to use vio2sf core by unknownfile at 10:03 AM EST on February 4, 2008
- I'm a lazy bastard, and thus I will be using a much more stable library on which to base the newer versions of Highly Whatever.
lib2sf will remain as a selectable option.

- @Knurek: Thanks for the timing info. I tend to miss things here and there.
I just noticed the vio2sf thing myself. The readme file for the 33MHz version mentions something about fixing pitch issues, so maybe that has something to do with that. For the record, the above link goes to the 33MHz version.

- Batch file to rename music for "The Simpsons Game":

If anyone knows where on earth the unidentified fanfare is from, do tell me. The others were never heard in-game (that I know of), but many either were the actual song endings from the console versions of the songs (the console soundtrack didn't loop, just ended and restarted) or were close enough in style to a song to be identified. A couple were guesses.

- HW is now built on the new emulation code, save for vio2sf.c. Stuff is running a lot better now (in particular there are no slowdowns on nsmb-000b). All other code is in place for tagging, timing, etc, so I can get to work without needing to rip off too much code.

- Okay, I'm not even gonna entertain the notion that I'm profiteering in any way from 2sf (or any other emulated music work). How one can go to this from a *donation* notice on a server that's not even owned by me is anyone's guess...
What I'm gonna talk about is some concerns people are having about 2sf being released a little prematurely.
Yes, DS is still strong. Yes, games are (and hopefully will be) still released for it (daily even). But really, the same situation happened both with PSF (anyone recall that Final Fantasy XII '0day' PSF2 rip?) and GSF (the format was released sometime during 2004 IIRC, while the most recent GBA game is from a month ago).
Obviously I don't want any game company to prove me wrong here, but really, there are easier, less time consuming methods for listening to the music for free (at least for the games that have an OST release, and frankly, 95% of people are only interested in those).
I for one have no plans on publically releasing games that will have an OST (upcoming Etrian Odyssey 2 for instance) until, say, half a year after the said OST release (they are usually sold out much sooner). What anyone else does is up to their conscience. How anyone eats their cake is their problem.

- Yeah, but the cake is a lie. :P
In many/most cases the 2SFs will be more complete than the OST. Therefore, it is not the same thing. On the other hand, the OSTs are typically remastered, so I guess there is a trade-off on both sides.

- 2sf was not released prematurely. The only thing is that the version byte is not recognized by the official PSF specs, either because I have yet to get started with the Megadrive format or because Neill is busy with his work.
In the meantime, the 2sf specs have been updated. The _clockdown tag has been appropriated from vio2sf.
there's that link again

- I didn't mean prematurely as 'not thought out enough', more like 'too early in the console life'.
Sorry for the misunderstanding

- Attention 2ch idiots:
Please refrain from referring to us as "kuso gaijin". We do the work around here.
And yes, I can read your moonspeak, 0Gv+9ENB.

Knurek, you've got a lot of support over on 2ch, even if it is just your standard *ch idiocy. One guy even suggested drawing you as Knurek-tan, one of those silly female charicatures (think Wikipe-tan for the Wikipedos).
