- Taking a listen in vio2sf now, the output is better than in_2sf. Shall fix problems later.

- In case some of you haven't noticed, there's been an update at Manly 2SF Mirror.
Details at VORC
All future site updates (I'm hoping for a weekly update schedule) will be announced there.
- todays big news by unknownfile at 11:21 AM EST on February 12, 2008
- I'm thinking of writing a program that automatically rips 2sfs out of a sdat file, with no savestates required. This however will likely piss off everyone who's been using the ripkit as they'll need to go back and rerip a bunch of crap.
Typical set with savestate: 4 MB
Typical set without savestate: 3.2 MB
I don't optimize the savestates and that's probably why shit sux.
I have a long weekend to do this (Family Day in Ontario) so yeah.

- Don't worry, you won't piss me off.
In fact I'd welcome such a tool, would at least save some time.
Currently ripped sets can be redone at a later time (as they still work fine, just are a bit bigger).
//Edit
One question though - will this method require tracing as well? If not, please provide a method to rebuild the SDAT, to remove unnecessary files (Jan Sangoku Musou being the border case here, the game has a 100 MB SDAT file, about 3 MB of it are music related data, rest are speech samples).

- Has anyone had any luck figuring out what on earth was the matter with Sonic Rush Adventure? (Or Sonic Rush for that matter?)
- by Mouser X at 2:18 AM EST on February 16, 2008
- Both Sonic Rush games use 1 SDAT per sequence. To rip it using the current method would be very tedious and wasteful. The problem is, you'd probably end up with a rip that's larger than the NDS ROM. Basically, you'd be creating a mini2SF and a 2SFlib for every song. The 2SFlib will be duplicated data, because the instrument banks are taken from the game data.
As for the tedium, you'd have to do the entire ripping process for each song, instead of being able to do the rip all at once. As Knurek said sometime, if someone created an SDAT combiner, it'd make things a ton easier. The SDAT format is fairly known, so it should be possible to create an SDAT combiner. However, this hasn't been done yet.
This is according to what I understand. Yes, it's rippable, but it's a pretty problematic rip. Mouser X over and out.

- Hope I'm not too late in 2sf ripping process, but I was able to rip these two games using Unknownfile's driver:
"Kirarin Revolution: Mezase! Idol Queen"
http://www.sendspace.com/file/zsqd90
The game also worked, but I'm not sure if the cleaning process went well because this set buzzes when I have another window open.
"Kirarin Revolution: Naasan to Issho"
http://www.sendspace.com/file/a68ef8
The first game in the series, "Kirarin Revolution: Kira Kira Idol Audition" did not work even though it also uses the Nintendo DS Standard sound driver.

- Found another set that isn't on the 2SF site yet: Star Fox Command. Just to let you know.
By the way, what became of the Diddy Kong Racing DS and Mega Man Battle Network 5 DS rips that Lunar was working on?

No clue about MMBN5, but DKR still won't play. I did a rip with the second rip kit myself to find out.
Also, not sure if I ever made note about it here, but I did an experimental rip of Pokemon Diamond a while back. Since sdattool crashes when trying to read Diamond's .sdat, I had no way to know what values to trace, so I tried 0-200. I ended up producing a 2sf of Bulbasaur's cry, and that's about it. I might take another look at it later when I have more time.
