- Mercury Meltdown Remix missing songs by AENIGMA at 3:02 PM EST on March 6, 2008
- HCS, thanks for making Mercury Meltdown Remix [PS2] available in the Bonus section. Do you happen to have the full "non-stripped" music file? Some of the songs are missing from the rip. If you listen to the file MUSIC_00ced840.MIB (interleave 7900) (Brazil), at the very end it plays the song Brood for less than 1 second, but Brood isn't included in the zip.
-edit-
Here are a couple more:
- MUSIC_05bf4040.MIB (interleave 7D00) (I don't know the song name) plays Invention at the very end but is not included in zip.
- MUSIC_0a6a4840.MIB (interleave 7900) (Rock City) plays Sable at the very end but is not included in zip.
- MUSIC_0d566040.MIB (interleave 7A00) (I don't know the song name) plays Toxin at the very end but is not included in zip.
[the MIB files don't play in WinAmp, but they play in MFAudio]

- The hcs project list by hcs at 3:52 AM EDT on March 10, 2008
- Here's the hcs project list
or: What's on my mind
or: Why hcs isn't working on what you want
Things I'm working on:
vgmstream - a moderately ambitious project to play streamed audio better than in_cube which no one is helping me with yet...
brsar_unpack - a half-useful .brsar unpacker, needs more useful
lafs - a half-useful .afs unpacker
alt-n64dev - trying to get this into a more useful and clean state, specifically getting a usable gsupload
school - a light, but nontrivial, courseload for my last semester
work - preparations for my first real job, including moving halfway across the country
straightening shit up - my room, my computer, etc.
Things I really want to work on (from time to time includes the above):
sdat tool - sdat extraction that doesn't suck
Escape from Pong 2 - a game I'm trying to write (game design, code, graphics, music)
SNES emu for N64 - I must do this.
minimal input programming language for portable devices - if you suggest Brainfuck you don't get what I mean, but I haven't arrived at exactly what I mean either...
rockbox - wikipedia viewer needs a lot of work, as does gbs player and the broken playback engine
gekko - we gotta get GC audio emulation working
SNES development - bought a backup system, haven't written a damned thing for it
Lookfar - Distant Planets Java port less than halfway done
and this is why I always feel busy and/or guilty about both not doing stuff and doing stuff.

A bonus seasonal project that should be done soon:
- Taxes!

Oh, and how could I forget:
The Mushroom Wars - a sci-fi comedy universe I work on with a friend, currently home to one novella-length story (which needs to be proofread one more time and then spammed to publishers), a longer work in progress, and a fairly vast storyline yet to be developed.

- Soul Calibur II original Gamecube audio by Akai Duran at 5:54 PM EDT on March 17, 2008
- Is this available anywhere on this site? I like the instruments heard in the Gamecube audio more than the ones heard in the original soundtrack.... especially when it comes to songs like Hubris. The Erhu beats that tinny violin synth they used in the soundtrack anyday.
I don't need MP3s, just the original audio files (which is what I'm sure you deal in anyway).
- Video Games Live by DjKnuX at 1:45 PM EDT on March 18, 2008
- Video Games Liveâ„¢ is an immersive concert event featuring music from the most popular video games of all time.
Does somebody know something about this Concert? I heard somewhere that they want to release a Best Of CD soon. I searched but I can´t find a Release Date for it yet.
Can somebody help me?
Where can I buy it or is there a way to download it somewhere when it is out?
Thanks in advance...
- 64th note tags not working in Winamp 5.52 by SeanV at 4:18 PM EDT on March 20, 2008
- The 64th note plugin works just dandy in Winamp 5.52, except for one thing: the tags!
After scanning my media library to find them, Winamp behaves as though the metadata was not found, and tried to read metadata from the filename(at which it failed horribly.)
When I click "edit selected items" on any .usf file, the tags are either blank or incorrect, depending on whether I enabled the "guess tags" option. However, if I choose "view file info," all the tags are there. Why won't Winamp recognize these tags? It makes sense to me that the 64th note plugin would pass this tagging data to Winamp, but this is obviously not happening. Does anyone have an answer or even a solution?
