- new project! by unknownfile at 9:54 AM EDT on May 15, 2007
- Due to utter boredom and due to the suckiness of the existing ones, I'm considering doing some research into the wonderful world of NES copiers.
Possible design as I have thought of so far would have:
- an audio controller, with a six-bit controller for chip emulation (VRC6 and VRC7 will be attached to a post-processing circuit)
- an MMC emulator, handling bank-switching and the audio controller, with 500 kb ROM space for programming
- 4 ROM chips containing 500 kb of data (totalling around 2 mb of data)
- a parallel port for PC programming to ROM
- iNES and UNIF emulation
To avoid wasting time with converters, the prototype may just be soldered onto the NES board with the cartridge connector added onto the end of the expansion board.
All the code is out there, so I can just port it over to VHDL or whatever.
Comments?
PS: Lagrange Point = shipped

- Ah yes, how fun boredom is:
// this is spartaaaaaaa simulator
// by uf
#include "stdafx.h"
#include <windows.h>
int main(int argc, char* argv[])
{
printf("THIS\n");
Sleep(600);
printf("IS\n");
Sleep(300);
printf("SPARTA");
while(1) {
printf("A");
Sleep(10);
}
return 0;
}
- More fun with Lagrange Point... by unknownfile at 11:54 AM EDT on May 25, 2007

- We had to show off our game publicly at an event arranged by Paisley Uni, Digital Futures. So finally the semester can be classed as over, although I have a couple of resits to do. :S
Anyway Atrox is our game, and it won the judging (We won 5 games from Eidos between 3 of us *shrugs*)
PS The video is from an earlier build...
