I'm using in_vio2sfu.dll 0.14 and it seems some Ys tracks don't work... Is this the best player?

Specifically:
ys-0000
ys-0007
ys-000a
ys-000e

I'm having similar problems with some Ys II songs. :(

As the missing.txt file in both set states, the songs won't play until someone hack the original game driver (the songs you've listed use more than 500 kB of samples which unfortunately breaks the Yoshi's Island driver).

"No longer working on 2sf, all further DS music development stuff will go into SUPER MEGA SOUND EMULATOR 2000,"

wait what? is this a real thing that's happening?

Oh, right, and one more thing, to illustrate my lack of knowledge about something I should know inside-out by now:

A 2sf (and PSF and GSF and such) file is just a sort of link/pointer/whatever to the actual sequence file inside of the *.*sflib, right? And that "library" (right?) also holds the sound samples the sequences use, correct?

Assuming I'm correct here, shouldn't it be possible - or rather, is it possible - to disassemble the library and extract both the sequence data and the sound samples?

What I'm getting at is basically this: could you, theoretically, extract a sequence file, find a way of interpreting the data in it, and alter them in order to create a different song? And then recompile the sflib and have the song play like a normal 2sf, or even properly in the game itself?

I mean, if that is the case, I'm sure theres complications in terms of making the game/hardware not freak out over the fact that you've altered the data, checksums and all that business.

Along the same lines, would it be possible, assuming I haven't struck out yet, to replace a sound sample with another sound sample in the library file? (with the same problems as altering the sequence, of course)

DAIS, that's exactly what we're doing with the generic driver 2SF rips.
Taking Yoshi's Island ROM and changing it's music files to those from different games.
As you can see it works pretty well in most of the cases.
