Hi, a Top Gear Rally rip would be awesome if possible, here's an example of the soundtrack's greatness: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wDU5dvd1xag

there are XM rips of the game on the mod archive - Barry Leitch

Thank you, this format has good compatibility. And for USFs, are they unrippable for this game? (Just curiosity, since the XMs are fine)

I'm pretty sure someone here a while back mentioned the N64 also uses the XM files so its probably the same thing.

I grew up with an AMIGA 500 so was pretty used to games using Barry Leitch's music like Super Cars etc.. His music is always A+

Nah, they don't sound the same, the ones on the N64 sound SUPERIOR, just listen to the way strip mine's mod totally ruins the notes as they weirdly go up and down in pitch, you would know if you listened to the music on the original N64 since you were a kid.
I'm very happy with the mp3 files from the Top Gear Rally soundtrack, though I don't remember from where I got it, they sound as they should (though the European version of the title track is missing) making the module files a let down.
As far as I know, no emulator was capable of reproducing the audio as it should sound on original hardware, so it's a dead end.

Will romhacks based on existing games can be possible?

For example I am one of the lead SFX editor for a Goldeneye hack called The Spy Who Love Me 64.

Getting a USF rip of the demo can be awesome, since my friend Trickle did put a lot of work onto it.

There also a custom soundset I did work on, but the samples were never used though besides piano.

There no other way to get a accurate recreation of the reverb heard in Goldeneye.

A personal USF rip can be awesome though.

Yes, the procedure to get an USF rip of the original Goldeneye would work on the hack, so it's possible. You may also consider releasing your custom soundset at Musical Artifacts.
PS1 game Ape Escape by to154 at 4:40 AM EST on January 31, 2026
’ve been searching for this for many years, so I’m finally making a request here.
This is about the PS1 game Ape Escape and its BGM.
When you make the playable character crawl (prone movement), the BGM actually changes.
What I’m specifically looking for is the BGM that plays while crawling.
I personally confirmed this during gameplay, and it appears that each stage has its own corresponding crawling BGM, matching the number of BGMs prepared for that stage.
For example, in Stage 1, it’s not just a single track, but something like:
Stage 1A
Stage 1B
Even within a single Ape Escape stage, there are multiple BGMs, and the crawling versions exist for each of them.
As far as I know, these crawling BGMs have never been ripped, are not included on any official soundtrack CDs, and in the PSP version, the BGM-switching feature itself was removed entirely.
(I was really looking forward to hearing them again.)
If anyone has data, recordings, rips, documentation, or even technical knowledge about these crawling BGMs,
please let me know.
Any information at all would be greatly appreciated.
