Talking of organs, there's this lead synth used in TTYD (talking particularly in the Bowser Boss theme and the Curse of The Black Chest) that I'd love to know the origins of. I don't know if it really is based on an organ or not, has anybody ever heard of something similar?

One of the composers of TTYD has a Twitter.

Maybe somebody who knows enough Japanese might be able to ask him what sounds were used, though I don't know which songs were composed by whom.

Are the choirs that play in the main theme of mario & sonic at the rio olympic games live? They sound too real.

I'm almost beginning to wonder why I even bothered asking for help with finding the sound libraries for the PS1 Mega Man X games... I understand that there are multiple projects going on, but could someone please help me out here? I've made at least one update so far. I've also been trying (and for the most part, failing) to find sound libraries used in the Zero and ZX games. Are the people here just not interested?

It's not that nobody is interested, its that nobody knows, hence they aren't replying. I wouldn't expect a bunch of users saying "Sorry, I don't know" a bunch of times repeated. I've already listened to a few tracks before and do not know.

@XaikuTheMaverickHunter
I mentioned MegaMan Zero samples somewhere back in this thread. Check the CDDA version Sounds Goods "Methods of Mayhem".

Accordion by G-Boy at 5:58 AM EDT on June 27, 2016
Does anyone know which sound library the accordion sample used in Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask came from?

@punk7890-2

I'll repost the updated stuff by quoting myself, at least.

"I actually found some of the samples used in this piece, the most of the percussion appears to come from Roland products. In particular, the snare comes from the L-CDX-01 sample library for the Roland S760.

The second dropbox link from the bottom has an attempted recreation of the drum track, but the jingle bell sound is off.

All other sounds come from the Roland Super JV/XP products. The bass is part of the internal sound library, labled as "PR-B: 009 Pick Bass".

The rest of the sounds were found in the SR-JV80-04 library, and the names of the audio files contain the names of the patches used.

Just ignore the whole "REQUIEM" thing. That was a title I came up with for the song."

@G-Boy That's one of the samples I'm missing as well, among others.

@XaikuTheMaverickHunter I'd imagine most of the other sounds come from JV products as well. Try searching for demos on YouTube.

I'm really curious what soundfont Koichi Sugiyama has been using since 2011 game Slime MoriMori 3 (Rocket Slime 3DS). DQ Heroes, mobile ports for I-VII, DQX expansions, and 3DS games use the same soundfont/software. I love the harp sound from this one.

Here's a few examples
