Off-Topic Comeback by G-Boy at 1:17 PM EDT on September 1, 2016
I just came back to this thread after working on my VGM Soundfont Thread. Thanks for finding a solution to my off-topic question!

BTW, I've started working on two new soundfonts: Addams Family SNES and New Super Mario Bros. DS. The New Super Mario Bros. DS soundfont was uploaded by someone long ago, but all links to it on the entire internet are dead, so I decided to make one myself.

Also, new sample found!

Sample: Nylon-str Guitar
Game: New Super Mario Bros.
Song: Chijo (means "Ground/Slut" (!) in Japanese, it's the music in the E3 demo), Overworld
Library: Roland Sound Canvas

This sample was also used a lot in the Ace Attorney series!

@G-Boy
Nice, what other instruments have you found from NSMBDS?

That Nylon Guitar can also be found from these library's and appear to be a cleaner sound to them:

The Ace Attorney series should be known to use Sound/Hyper Canvas very frequently.
Investigation ~ Contradiction at the Crime Scene contains Sound Canvas French horn, as an example.

@PokeMusic OoT and other Zelda games use a TON of hardware synths. Most of them are from E-Mu's Proteus Line, as well as others like Roland SC-8850. Here are two photos of Koji Kondo's hardware synths.

You can identify most of the rack synths: Roland JV-1080, JV-2080, SC-8850, VP-9000, E-Mu Proteus 2, Proteus World, Proteus Orchestral, Morpheus, Korg 01R/W Workstation, Novation Supernova 2, Akai S 3000...

I found the ocarina from Ocarina of Time in Proteus for example. The saz from Koume Kotake and Castle Town is also in Proteus World if I remember correctly.

Edit: Missed XV-5080, the top one in the second row

OoT didn't use a lot of hardware synths. Most of them came from various sample CDs. A user from here pointed out a while ago which I confirmed that Goron City and some Forest Temple percussion came from a Korg M1 however. There is still quite a bit missing from that game in terms of where samples came from, however. Here is some OoT and miscellaneous game samples. The list hasn't been updated for sometime.

This spreedsheet needs some updating it seems.

@punk7890-2 Well, most of the instruments are missing in that list, so we can't really say most of them come from various sample CDs. Kondo does use a lot of rack synths in older Zelda games, not so much the new ones of course.

The spreadsheet in the beginning of this thread is very outdated too.
