Weird, it says 96kHz on the page. Hm.

For comparison, I've uploaded a part of a song I made earlier this year. Here is the SF2 version. And the VSC version. The soundfont is far superior. The VSC version has a clear cutoff if you view it in a spectrum viewer and tries but fails to resample itself. Not only that but sounds too muddy for my taste.

Yeah, the VSC version sounds horrible.

That's interesting - how does the HyperCanvas compare to both?
by punk7890-2 at 11:25 AM EST on November 19, 2014
Hyper Canvas is fine. It has a true 44khz output. It's basically a small version of a sc-88 but in 44khz. Here's a song from Aero Fighters Assault using it. It matches the game perfectly as it also uses a SC-88.

Huh, go figure. Granted, I've heard about it from people who weren't particularly fond of the emulations in general... At any rate, I've learned something new here today, then!

@Can of Nothing.

Then I guess you're a can of SOMETHING after all, eh?~

Trust me when I say that's far from the first time I've heard that one, and probably won't be the last.

Anyone know if sharing stuff like soundfonts and sampled libraries of synths are accepted here? Kind of wanting to check if I didn't break any rules with the SC-55, but also because I'm defos going to want to share some of the stuff I've ot sooner or later. I've got a torrent for a Kontakt library of the Roland Fantom X, which apparently Kondo used for Sunshine, as well as the GameCube Mario Party games.

If nothing else its Nylon guitar patch (sadly on just about every Roland synth nowadays though, so it's hard to tell which in particular it's from) sounds identical to the one used in NSMBU's Overworld theme.

Wouldn't mind that library, love the Mario Party and Sunshine sounds.

I have Hyper Canvas, and I find it to be a lot of fun creating high quality versions of soundtracks that use the SC-88.

When you say that Hyper Canvas doesn't have all that the SC-88 had, what is it missing?
