@Robotortoise
I don't see the big deal

Somehow I'm not surprised. I'm convinced that Sunshine Seaside, unlike Chain-Link Charge, uses Koji Kondo's arrangement (most noticable in the bassline and percussion) instead of being rearranged to be played live.

[EDIT: Gonna try convert that steel drum exs, btw. Thanks again, starerik.]

Percussion in Sunshine Seaside is real, shown here At least the bongos.

By the way, the EXS files can be opened with no problem in Kontakt. No need for conversion.

Huh, I'm surprised I never noticed either. Nice catch; thanks a lot, that's convenient.

Still, look at Yoshi Star Galaxy, for example. It's kind of obvious that the organ and clav aren't real, whereas the horns most probably are. That's probably what's going on with Sunshine Seaside as well.

Question, is the korg triton in any way related to the korg trinity? Because I do have soundfonts for the latter which has some minor wario world like sounding instruments.

Also someone please tell me if people selling synthesizer soundfonts like the korg triton/M1/M3 and the fantom X on ebay and other well known websites is legit, for example this one because they are sometimes cheaper than the actual hardware and I am willing to buy if true and upload here for you guys if you want. To be honest I only want the fantom X. :P

I believe soundfonts on eBay are the same available on the internet for free anyway.

I want to buy the hardware someday.

Probably so but I can never find a download link for the free ones anyway, they're all usually dead :( as long as they sound like the real thing I guess they're good, wish I could afford the hardware too but soundfonts or vsts are the way to go.

Buy the soundfonts if you can afford them.

Soundfonts or miscellaneous unofficial digital emulations of synth hardware tend to be a mixed bag - a lot of them are severely lacking and not half as good as the real thing, and that's even if they have all the patches in the first place. I know a decent (I should know , I have one myself :P ) Refill of the Korg Triton, though, iirc I converted them to soundfont format too. I'll upload them sometime.

About the Trinity, the Triton takes some of its samples from it (I've found some patches Jun Senoue used from his Trinity for Sonic Adventure in my Triton), as well as the M1. An excellent digital replica of the latter is available, so I'd recommend that one to you first.

Okay, I listened to Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker's soundtrack now, and while I do recognize the sitar and maybe some other samples from Logic Pro, I recognize the underground mine cart theme's percussion from Kirby's Epic Yarn's Yin-Yarn cutscenes. The drumbeat itself is quite similar too.

I don't know if it's the same composer (CT:TT didn't explicitly credit anybody for the music) but they might actually use the same soundfont.
