Not the same composer since the Epic Yarn composer isn't listed among the names.

Pretty sure you could just chalk it up to video game composers having the same popular gear. I'd be surprised to see someone from Kirby work for Mario-related content.

The music from its trailer at least sounds like it's the same guys, particularly Mahito Yokota.

thanks for the bump though, really, no sarcasm

Yokota was the only composer credited in the staff roll, from what I could tell.

all this talk makes me want to get a SC-88 series sound module..

you may know this already, but..
If you want some of the SC-88 sounds without getting hardware, wait until you can find Cakewalk Music Creator 6 Touch on sale as it comes with Cakewalk TTS-1, a repackaged version of Hypercanvas, which, while only being a GM2 soundset, has lots of SC-88 waveforms. It works as a dxi plugin, and I found a vst wrapper for it. Works quite nice.

You know someone said it was on sale a while back on the OC Remix forums, does it really have an authentic SC-88 sound? I desperately need it so, last time I checked music creator 6 was $29.95 otherwise the SC-88 module is like $100-$300 on amazon. Tell me, what is the difference to SC-88 and SC-88 Pro? Does the pro version have more features?

Cakewalk are being stupid by only offering Windows versions of their software. A lot of musicians go with Mac.

@staerik "A lot of musicians go with Mac." ...for the wrong reasons. What are ya, a hipster?
by bxaimc at 4:39 PM EST on December 14, 2014
Lots of game music is composed using Logic Pro.
by Can of Nothing at 7:32 PM EST on December 14, 2014
As far as I'm aware, it seems like Mac is the standard of choice for game composers, especially on the Japanese side... Then again, they're also the kind hardware synths and rackmounts are still being made for.

not that i'm dissing them. i mean after all i have a triton sitting right next to me and i'd willingly be using a mac if i could

I just ran the midi through without edits so it's not completely correct, but you should get the idea, probably
