@palo_alto
The SC-88 was already used heavily in the soundtrack, even if the game is from 2013, so it would make sense if the TR-909 kit is from the SC-88 Pro. For example, this whistle is also from the SC-88.

Anyone find any Mario Kart DS instruments? Or any more Mario & Luigi Bowsers Inside Story instruments? There are some sounds, I am looking for the accordion in Cavi Cape's theme and the steel drums from Plank Beach.
by G-Boy at 5:52 AM EDT on August 13, 2017
@PokeMusic
The steel drums in Beachside Dream are from the Roland SR-JV80-05 World expansion board, and the accordion in The Wind that Blows Over Cavi Cape is probably from HALion, the Trinity or the Triton.

@G-Boy
I noticed the SC-55 Bass & Lead preset in a lot of Mario Kart DS music and also a few other lead and bass synths, it is likely they could be from the Trinity, M1, JV-1080 and Sound Canvas. And in Bowsers Inside Story, the Cavi Cape accordion sounds similar to one on the M1, which means it might be in the Trinity or Triton. I wonder where Benjamin and Can of Nothing have been, haven't heard from them in a while. I guess they're busy in the Discord server.

In Mario Kart Wii's battle stages, Funky Stadium has the Philly Hit from the Roland SC-88
