@Yeah i ran into that one. I think i posted it on VGMdb or zelda universe. I know there is more in there. Also that or voices of Native america has the reversed vocals from the Ook fight. I also think some of the single hit instruments are from that library.

Q Up Arts:
Voice of Istanbul
Voices of Native America

have a lot of samples from Twilight Princess.

Recently got Spectrasonic's Vocal Planet. Haven't fully gone through it all yet but found one already.
This comes from the song in Tales of Xillia, Village of the Spirits by Motoi Sakuraba. Pretty cool sound.

EDIT: I think these samples comes from Banjo Kazooie.
EDIT2: This sample comes from this track from Onimusha Dawn of Dreams.
I've heard this choir sample somewhere before.

Okay, so I recognize some percussion from 3D World from Logic Pro as well as the sitar, and somebody said it uses Korg Triton as well. I'm still wondering what other soundfonts it uses (same with Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker).

Those are among some of my favorite soundtracks to listen to.

I'm the one who brought up the Triton; it's also assumable that a Roland Fantom of some kind (either X or G, but likely the latter) is involed as well, as I'd also mentioned.

Mario Kart 8 seems to use Battery's Pop Kit for drums on some tracks. Can't remember which off the top of my head, but as usual I'm willing to search if asked.

Apologies for the double post (/bump), but this question has been bugging me for a while now: does anyone know what kind of stuff Ryo Nagamatsu used for A Link Between Worlds? He's mentioned the orchestrations aren't played live, and I can definitely hear that. The instruments nevertheless seem to have a fair amount of realism to them while also having a distinct character. I'd say it's a perfect middle ground between SNES's samples and orchestra recordings - which is exactly why I'd love to get my hands on them!

@canofnothing

I looked into that a few months ago, I think it might be Vienna Symphonic Library.

They are so god damn expensive for being so old.

Most of the crash cymbals, Tubular bells, Timpani, Glockenspiel and Violin string sections and the harp from Hilda's Theme come from East West Symphonic Orchestra. Sounds like some Cello Sections and Tremolo sections are from that library also. I oddly heard Miroslav Vitous Orchestra Violin Section. (I forgot the exact name of the library. I have it laying around somewhere.) No idea where the brass and snares comes from. Wouldn't doubt that some of brass are live.

The Vienna recorder sounds reasonably similar, nice!
It's a shame if the brass are indeed live. They're perhaps my favorite of all the sounds. I'm definitely surprised though that Nintendo's starting to use more recent, digital libraries, like Battery used in Mario Kart 8, as I've mentioned above.

from what I've heard, and as being a trumpet player, I don't think that the brass is live. I'll look into it
