@midiman Holy shit! Does this include everyone of their SC products?!

Testing out the trial version and surely enough I'm hearing some of my favorite samples from Wario World and Mother 3 in this VST which works great btw other than the 10 minute limitation thing...is it worth buying though?

Yeeeeees, buying it!

Wow. This looks very nice. Has anyone bought it yet? If so, what do you think of it? The few Sound Canvas banks/programs/VSTs available that I've tried have been... not so great. I'm particularly interested in SC-88.

How does it compare to previous Sound Canvas VSTs (like VSC and HyperCanvas), anyway? I was wondering this for a while. I have Cakewalk TTS-1 from Sonar so I might skip on this, but if it's got some really good advantages over the rest, I might have to consider getting it.

By now I'm pretty convinced that a lot of Super Mario Maker stuff utilizes Roland synths (probably from the Fantom line, but again due to not having one myself I can't be 100% sure), but that's obviously not the case with 'orchestral' songs like SMB1 Underground. I wonder which library exactly it is - it sounds like Vienna to me, but I can't say for certain.

Man, I didn't expect it to be that expensive. I was guessing around 80 dollars. I'll wait.

Hopefully Roland are working on an XV/JV synth plug-in, then my life is complete.

Super Mario Maker I'm not sure about them, I was trying to tell with the timpani sound (which I don't think I recognize from Vienna or Kontakt (almost thought that was it actually), might be in EWQL but if not then I'm stumped). They do use Spectrasonics drums and synths though, as I recognized a few drums from Stylus RMX especially (which they seem to have been using that plenty for Mario games recently.

Whatever they used for the drums for the Super Mario World Overworld edit mode, they most likely used in Mario Kart Wii's Funky Stadium. Mario Kart Wii had plenty of Roland Fantom usage, but I don't think that drum loop came from it. I don't recognize any Fantom stuff in Super Mario Maker either.

$125 is a little steep for me, even if it's just a VST but it does have SC-88/SC-55 samples. I was able to find the exact samples for a song in Magical Starsign and they sounded the same when I compared them to the dls samples in a soundfont, the VST just has higher original quality that I like. I might buy it next week, I think this is a better alternative than Jazz GM's SC-88 soundfont.

Woah that's really neat! Though, that price. Eep. Sounds excellent and the quality is perfect. Just tried it on a game that uses all SC-88 instruments and it sounds perfect.

Interestingly enough, I found some more Jet Force Gemini samples in the SC-88 along with a sync from Goldeneye.
