Great to see those new torrents up. Have you had any luck with either of the Super Monkey Ball games? Just wondering.

As of this writing, I have Super Monkey Ball 2 on it's way. As for whether it contains playable audio files, I have yet to find out. I've been working on that one for at least the last 2 days (my 'net connection was being a serious pain, which canceled my downloads...).

However, the point of this post is actually for HCS. I think I've noticed a bug in the tacker. So far, it hasn't been a major cause of concern because I don't think it effects the functionality of the tracker. The problem is that, for some reason, it's not getting rid of duplicate/dead entries. There's one torrent where, even though I'm running only 1 BitTorrent client, it has me listed as a seed 6 times. On top of that, I know for certain that at least 1/2 of the IPs listed are dead, because it's my IP, but I'm not connected under that account right now, and yet it still lists me as a seeder... I've started noticing this increasingly on the torrents. I think what the problem is, is that when I lose connection (ping timeout, or somesuch thing) my client either doesn't send a signal saying I'm getting off, or the tracker thinks I'm still on, because I never "left" of my own accord.

Of course, I could be way off on this one. I just thought it would be important to get rid of all the "ghost" seeds and such. Nonetheless, thank you very much for your awesome services. I'd just like to add that, according to my torrenting client, I am currently seeding the Sonic Heroes ADX files (from the USA NTSC version) to someone in Japan. I thought that was funny, in a way, since the vocal songs will be in English.

Anyway, if all goes well, I'll be able to start a torrent for Super Monkey Ball 2 (if the audio files can indeed be ripped) soon, and (with A LOT of luck) F-Zero GX. And, maybe even the "Lego Star Wars" game (hey, it's a great game). Oh, and if anyone wants it (you'll need to actually request this one), I can start a torrent for Donkey Konga DSPs, and Donkey Konga 2 DSPs. However, in my personal opinion, I didn't think they were worth torrenting. If you really want them (or specific songs in them, as that might be better), ask, and I'll see what I can do.

As for Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance, the DSPs mostly work, but there's some that are pretty messed up. I'll torrent it as soon as that issue is cleared up. Anyway, I hope you enjoy what's up right now. Mouser X over and out.

I'm aware of things not cleaning up properly, this is because I disabled the cleanup function because it was removing torrents, not just peers. I'll look into reenabling it.
There. Idle peers will be removed from the list. I lengthened the time for unseeded torrents to stick around to four years, rather than four hours, so I think we're covered there.
This might have been deleterious to performance, as the tracker will not give you *all* peers, just a random subset, so the more dead IPs on the list the longer you'd need to wait for a connection. I think. It does show that we're not nearly as well-seeded as we'd thought.

I'll take a look at the Fire Emblem STMs when I get back to school (some time today).

Well, Super Monkey Ball 2 is done. I find this strange, but it uses at least 3 different formats for its audio. It uses ADX, which works fine, DSP, which so far works fine, and ADP. Since ADP doesn't work yet, I won't be torrenting that (unless specifically requested). The DSPs, however, are quite large. 209mb for the "stream" bit, and 101 for the "stream_fx" which is the sound FX, if you couldn't guess. I don't think I'm going to torrent the sound fx unless requested. If I torrent the ADX files with the music DSPs, it will be 244mb. That's what I plan on doing. Anyone have anything to add? Remove stuff? Add stuff? I'll be posting the torrents later today.

As for F-Zero GX, I was pretty lucky, but not enough. I'm 47mb short of completing the thing, and I have to wait in line again for at least some number of hours. Hopefully it will finish soon, as I'd really like to get a torrent out of those.

Anyway, feedback is appreciated. Thanks in advance for anything you might have to add. I hope you enjoy the sets out now, and that you'll enjoy those to come. Mouser X over and out.

THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!

Thank you for working on the Super Monkey Ball 2 DSPs. I can't wait to get them.

I believe that torrenting only the music will be sufficient. The SE on this game weren't that great anyway.

I guess that since ADP does not work they should not need to be distributed now. What kind of data do you think they contain? (Music, SE, etc.) Then again, if they contain music then it may be a good idea to go ahead an distribute them because I am sure that hcs will eventually add support for them to the DSP plugin. But, it all comes down to whatever works for you.

Again, thanks a lot. I will be excitedly waiting for them to be uploaded.

The ADP files in Super Monkey Ball 2 seem to be mostly music files. However, based on file sizes, I'm not completly sure on that. There is a utility that can convert ADP into WAV, but when doing so, it makes a 3-4mb file into a 13-14mb file. A link to it can be found on the in_dsp page. It's called Cube2wav.

With all of the audio files (ADX, ADP, DSP, minus SFX), it's 267mb for the whole thing. Considering how many times Sonic Adventure 2 ADX files were downloaded (based on the count kept by the tracker), and the number of times the "missing files" for SA2 were downloaded, I think that I'll include the ADP files into the torrent, with a note of what they are, and how to convert them to playable form. If you don't want the ADP files yet, I'd recomend you get a BitTorrent client that can select what files to, and not to, download. BitTornado, Azureus, ABC, BitComet (I think), and ?Torrent can all do this.

Since the Super Monkey Ball 2 DSPs were pretty good, I went ahead and started Super Monkey Ball 1. It's more than 50% done, but I don't know how well the next 50% will come along. Again, I don't know what audio type it uses, so don't get your hopes up yet. I just thought that you (specifically marioman) might like to know.

[EDIT]
The torrents to F-Zero GX and Super Monkey Ball 2 are now up. I hope you enjoy! Both of these are pretty good. Hopefully these torrents work for you (the creation of the Super Monkey Ball 2 torrent gave me problems). For those of you who have been looking forward to this, I highly recommend you use the torrents. Good luck with these.

I must agree, interesting indeed. Mouser X out.

Emil007 just put up a bunch of new torrents, for which I am very grateful, but Network Transmission has files created using dkdsp to combine the right and left channels. dkdsp is not intended for use on looping files, and thus these files to not loop properly, if at all.

Er, on a few seconds of further thought, Network Transmission doesn't loop anyway in the current version of in_dsp. Nothing to see here.

After downloading a few files from Battatlion Wars, I can say that, even when a file sounds like it should loop (and it's named such, "Title_Loop.dsp" for example) it doesn't loop. This set also had the right and left channels combined, and doesn't loop as it should. That's just to keep people aware that this might not be what you were expecting. Mouser X over and out.

hmm, should i delete the Torrents and make them new without dkdsp or leave them like they are?

I'd delete them. I know I won't be getting Battalion Wars unless I download it myself, or if you put up a new set. It doesn't sound right if they don't loop when they're obviously supposed to.

However, I must say, thanks for the Custom Robo and Kirby's Air Ride rips. I'm still working on getting them, but I'm looking forward to it. Mouser X over and out.
