What sets would you like? I have learned that putting everything online causes people to decide to download everything.
by Jouw at 12:09 PM EST on January 27, 2007
Same here. I've been looking for the tracker, but have never been able to find it.
The sets I want are Super Mario Sunshine and Paper Mario: Thousand Year Door.

Oh, and I forgot, and I can't change the post as there's no edit feature.
Mario Kart Double Dash, also.

Jouw,

First off, there is an edit feature. Check below your post.

Secondly, I wouldn't bother with Super Mario Sunshine as most of the tracks are sequenced, and I'm trying to figure out how the sequence format works.

I don't know where to put Paper Mario, though, even though I have it. Perhaps a megaupload link would be fine?

Mario Kart Double Dash is on the server, but I will not link it here to avoid bandwidth being raped.

Uh, yeah there is an edit feature. Look at the bottom of your post. It is blue text that says "[edit]".
by Jouw at 12:56 PM EST on January 27, 2007
Oh, I never saw it. I'm sorry. I think it might have been because I was reading a topic where someone said this forum needed an edit feature, so I assumed there wasn't one.
Megaupload is fine.
The only other one I wanted was SSBM, which I already found a link to some time ago in this thread.
If you can get them for me, thanks!
Also, if you can't get SMS it's OK.

Hey, MouserX or UNKNOWFILE or hcs... How would I go about getting the Chibi-Robo set? I was so impressed with the Custom Robo set laying about the hcs site, I figured I'd give Chibi-Robo a try as well.

If you are trying to save on bandwidth, I guess you could just email me a link. Or, if you would prefer, I can host my FTP server and have you upload it to there straight from your PC.

Whatever works best for you guys!

UF, Mouser, anyone with space on the server, go ahead and upload and link things, saves me the trouble. A few sets won't hurt, it is having a massive selection that causes issues.

I have Chib-Robo, but I've never uploaded it anywhere... Same goes for Robotech: Battlecry, and Dark Summit. I did upload Metal Arms: Glitch in the system, but the files aren't fully supported in in_cube. Yes, they play, but at the wrong sample rate. As such, they play either too fast, or too slow (it depends on the file). The problem is, is that HCS hasn't found a good, solid way of figuring out the sample rate on a per-file basis. As a general rule, if it has $ in the name, it's played at 22khz, though not always (and that's the problem, it's not consistent enough). If it doesn't have $ in the filename, then it's usually music, and played at 48khz (but again, not always, but most of the time).

However, Chibi-Robo plays just fine. I should probably upload that somewhere... I haven't done so, because I haven't "cleaned" it up (there's soundFX, etc. strewn in with the music). I could just RAR it up as is (which has been done with other sets, namely LEGO Star Wars 1 and 2), and upload it that way. All things considered, that might be the best idea, since chances are that I'm not going to be getting around to cleaning it up soon...

The problem with Robotech and Dark Summit is similar. However, Robotech is a real mess (last I remember). I'm lead to believe that, due to the messiness (as I remember it), the files I've gotten from Robotech are developmental. They might not actually be used in-game. I very possibly could be wrong. It's been a long time since I looked at those files.

The Dark Summit game that I got was a multi-language PAL version. The audio contains English, and a few other languages. SoundFX, voice overs, everything, is repeated multiple times. It's not pretty, but I guess I could probably RAR up the English ones, and I should be fine (I'd have to look again, to make sure there isn't other stuff hiding around that's not in the English directory).

To the best of my memory, those are the sets that I have on my PC that haven't yet been distributed. Anyone interested in them? Any ideas what trackers/sites I could use to torrent/upload them? If I upload them, I'll need a site that allows me to continue an upload, since I get disconnected so often. Yes, I can use HCS's site, but I don't know how to directly link to the files I upload.

Anyway, suggestions would be most welcome, as I'd be happy to torrent these things (if I can get the motivation to organize them slightly more than they are now...). Mouser X out.

If "cleaning up" only involves deleting sound effect files from the collection, I'd be more than happy to do that for you. If it requires tweaking of the disc image and redumping it or whatever, you can count me out.

Either way, I believe my FTP server supports upload resuming, and I can upload it to the BitTorrent site of your choice. MiniNova, The Pirate Bay, and IsoHunt seeming to be the biggest right now.

As for linking off of the HCS server, I assume one would simply reference the www.hcs64.com/files/BLAH.RAR link in posts here. =P
