Mortal Kombat - Deadly Alliance (2002-11-18)(Midway)\music_tune11.msx_3.xwav has a leftover RIFF string in offset 0x2ABA00 that is preventing the file to play properly (which seems to be the starting header of music_tune11.msx_4.xwav).

The demux'ed audio files doesn't seem to play properly and may need to undergo .genh/.vgmstream processes. Maybe someday the set will make use of mode = layers to get looped music to play for convenience.

Well it'd be much more helpful if you actually said what's wrong with that file: either there's a short audible glitch in the very end or its playtime is shorter or longer than it's supposed to be or something else entirely.
Also a real old-timer on these forums will quickly get you're talking about an Xbox set but it'd be nice if you specified platform too.

Anyway if someone wants to rerip the game I guess it can be done rather easily & quickly: Deadly alliance had absolutely different MSX archives when compared to the format used in Deception & Armageddon, the latter had RIFF headers stored separately while MK:DA used normal wave streams.
Maybe a generic file type scanner I employed for the task didn't do the job properly (and VGMToolbox's advanced cutter is much more reliable and modern choice)? I admit the tool I used for extraction of individual WAVs (tracks with RIFF file start & WAVEfmt string in the beginning) out of *.MSX bigfiles is quite old and there's a possibility of malfunction in some cases.
Although (keep it in mind) I'm not 100% sure I used the program I'm talking about, maybe (like 5% or even 10% chance) I chose to set up this script and let QuickBMS do all the splitting.

Later!

Has someone tried ripping from the Soulcalibur 6 network test that got released on PS4 and Xbox yesterday?

Newer PS4 games that require higher firmware versions do not have a public exploit so they can’t be dumped at the moment.

@Ultrafighter

I'm surprised my post didn't include the Xbox tag.

Having the RIFF string at the end of the file makes it completely unplayable. It will not play at all via in_vgmstream (tested with Winamp) unless the RIFF string at the EOF is removed.

The files seems to be fine. Never got to verify it with the actual content yet, but I don't think a re-rip is necessary. The issue with it was just that one .xwav file with the leftover RIFF string that just requires it to be trimmed out, as well as the demux'ed content that likely can be fixed with .genh/.vgmstream. From there, I'm sure .txtp/.txth can be used (if it supports loop pointers for .xwav) for the looping portion.

"It will not play at all via in_vgmstream (tested with Winamp)"
This probably explains it, I use FB2K all the time and that specific file supposedly played fine when I listened to all the tracks before zipping & uploading them. I would have given music_tune11.msx_3.xwav an (unplayable) prefix if I had run into any issues with it back then.

"...the demux'ed content that likely can be fixed with .genh/.vgmstream"
Do you mean streams with RAW extension and (mov) tag? I demuxed XMVs with VGMT & left those files untouched, I thought it's the way to do it and there's no rule against it here.
I presume I had "add header to output" field checked but is it a problem at all? I guess it'd save me lots of time if audio from different videos had different specs (frequency, maybe even amount of channels) and it's a good default method anyway.
Or did I misunderstand you and you meant something else (like "(cs) *.xwav" group)? Those were ripped exactly the same way that clean BGM (without any prefixes in filenames) was, they didn't come from any prerendered movies (XMVs or any other codec).

I suppose it clears it all up but if not never hesitate to ask more questions. Regards, Ultrafighter.

@ChillyBilly you don't mind if sometime later this week if I work on the KOFXIV loop pointers for the PC set you released? It may also need the new DLC content included.

You can add-in the DLC set and, for leniency, send over a log dump containing all the vgm files proposed for the set and I'll send over the .pos files necessary. If you do not want to go through with it, I do not mind doing a complete set rip (I can give you the credit for ripping original base-game content + Ver 2.0 DLC).

Do you have Discord by chance?
