OK, I updated Saptapper again.

> Me:

As I stated above, that was not true :)

> Knurek:
> Games using early version of the driver still return missing VSync function:

Yeah, I updated the search function. Thank you for your info. (*'v'*)

Hmm, you're right. However, I guess the problem is caused by a player (emulator) rather than Saptapper. I opened unaltered ROM in VBA-M (and some other VBA variants and NO$GBA, too) and heard some songs. They were noisy too.
If you think I am wrong at some points, please let me know. I would appreciate it.

Thank you for this, it's easily 60 previously unripped GBA games. I will try to add them to pmh ASAP.

I think that takes care of all Sappy games. \o/

I imagine that Kinnikuman game is just a bad dump, sorry for not checking the playback in an emulator before reporting.

If you ever manage to add support for other drivers (Natsume, Konami, Griptonite, GBAMOD, GAX), please let me know. Game Boy Advance had some amazing tunes, would love to see the ripped.

There's still loads of unripped GBA games - and the list is complete only up till 2005.07

//EDIT

loveemu, I'm not sure if this isn't something the early Sappy driver does, but the rips I've made (up now on pmh) all have a tiny pop at start of song. This only happens with the early driver version you added recently, not the newer version you added previously.

It's easily noticeable when you play any track that has silence at beginning, just try 01 BGM #01, 04 BGM #04 or 06 BGM #06 from GT Advance Championship Racing [Advance GTA] (GBA)(2001-03-21)(-)(MTO)

Knurek, thank you for your info as usual.

I will probably check it, but not very soon, for some reasons.

By the way, I created my gsfopt page. You can download bugfixed version of the last release there.

IMPOTANT NOTICE

Please stop using all old releases of my saptapper. Visit saptapper github page and download new releases (release date is not changed, however, it fixes a fatal bug described below).

Old versions (except official saptapper) actually puts wrong offset value into minigsf. The offset must be 0x08XXXXXX, but the tool writes it as 0x00XXXXXX.

Sorry for inconvenience.
I'm thinking if I should create a small tool to fix existing minigsfs made by it...
by Knurek at 9:21 AM EST on January 24, 2014
Can I use the gsflib created with the old version and just replace the minigsfs?

If so, no need for a tool, I will just redo all the sets myself - it's just a simple unpack-change_one_byte_repack procedure, right?

Knurek:

Yes, fortunately you can. You're right.

By the way, I redumped Metroid Fusion GSF since it does not play in kode54's foo_input_gsf and no$gba. New one plays on both of them.

Changes:

- make main loop shorter a little
- Caitsith2's GSF probably adjusts volume by editing volume multiplier constant. I did not do that, instead, I tried to use in-game headphone setting rather than handheld. (I set 2 to 0x080024C7, I hope it's not wrong)
- minigsfs are *not* changed at all

There's a noticable glitch at beginning of each track in that fixed Metroid Fusion set when using viogsf (0.08/VBA-M r956).

//EDIT

Also, unless VGMToolbox doesn't unpack minigsf files for some reason, I can't find an easy way to change the minigsf load offsets - if you could whip up a simple tool to fix them, it'd be lovely - I have about 20 games done with the bad version of Saptapper, it would take me about a week to redo all of them orz

loveemu, one more thing - the new saptapper crashes on these games:

Gakuen Alice - Dokidoki Fushigi Taiken (2004-11-18)(Rokumendo)(Kids Station)
Sentouin Yamada Hajime (2004-10-21)(Rokumendo)(Kids Station)
Zettai Zetsumei Dangerous Jiisan Tsuu - Ikari no Oshioki Blues (2004-07-16)(Rokumendo)(Kids Station)
Zettai Zetsumei Dangerous Jiisan 3 - Hateshinaki Mamonogatari (2004-12-16)(Rokumendo)(Kids Station)

And probably on some other ones as well?

In the meantime, I created a tool to fix minigsf.
Download minigsffix

Usage: minigsffix *.minigsf

This tool overwrites given minigsfs. I recommend to make backups since I have not tested the tool much. I hope it will work good.

I replaced the above. I hope it will improve the situation. Otherwise, I may need to copy some bytes from unoptimized ROM by hand.

### Edit: Mother 3 GSF ###

Also, I reoptimized Mother 3 GSF and converted 004.gsf to 004.minigsf :)
