Sorry to push this onto a new page (regarding Knurek's awesome collection at hoot.hcs64.com), but it requires emphasis.

It's been only a few hours there are already two IP bans in place. I understand that it's a lot of files, guys, and I fully support using a download manager to handle it, but if it uses as many connections as it can gobble up it will very quickly consume all RAM on my server.
I will happily unban you if you can demonstrate that you have tamed your client.

Almost all of the files need updates.
by Knurek at 7:13 PM EDT on April 23, 2009
This is probably caused by the fact, that I've torrentzipped all the sets.

In other news spc.hcs64.com is GO...er.
Full SPC reorg, including all files from snesmusic.org plus about a hundred of other dumps (untitled, but timed).

Other difference between this and snesmusic is that SPC files inside RSN archives were renamed from 8.3 format to proper song names.

Example:

Tales of Phantasia (1995)(Wolfteam)(Namco):

top-101.spc -> 101 Decisive.spc

And of course, this one works ATM.

To hell with 8.3 naming. That makes entirely so much more sense. That said, I like keeping my sets rar'd.

This has arrived at a perfect time, considering snesmusic is shitting itself at the moment. What's up with that? Datschge forget to pay his bills? I still have to run off a whole bunch of SPC set corrections at some point. I wonder if the site will ever have any locally hosted forums...

Nice. It also has SNSF rips. Now if we could get a more decent version of in_snsf...

Genesis/Mega Drive music archive up: http://smd.hcs64.com/

Whole Project2612 collection (reorganized as usual) + few sets from their forums that haven't been added to the site + about 5 GB of redbook music from SegaCD games.

Sadly, most SegaCD games used sequenced music, which isn't properly logable to VGM ATM, so some CD sets are pretty bare bones.

Enjoy.

Let's just hope the ripped Megadrive format gets done soon. I'd love to hear some SegaCD rips someday.

canoe-wreck, do you have some sort of program that organizes (well renames, and so forth) folders and files, or is it all by hand?
