PSF2 Directory. :)
by Mouser X at 12:57 PM EDT on July 19, 2006
While this isn't directly related to xSF format info, it is emulated audio info that I figure people would like to know about. Years ago, before I found OC ReMix (sometime in 2000 or 2001), I found a really neat emulated audio player called Meridian (I refer to this version as Meridian Classic). Since Meridian was being hosted on Overclocked.org, I eventually found that site as well.

Anyway, the reason I bring this up, is to show that Meridian has been developing emulated audio software for years (minus nearly all of 2005). About a month ago, he released a new GBS plugin for Winamp. The plugin is far from feature rich, but it's very very accurate. It sounds great, and in most cases sounds better than any other GBS player I've ever used (I think the only exception to this is Meridian Classic).

Check out the new GBS plugin here. While it may be a little CPU intensive (it takes about 30% of my 2ghz AMD CPU), it sounds great. As I said, it's not feature rich, but hopefully that will change as Meridian continues to work on it (which I certainly hope he's doing. Check the forums). Hope you enjoy this great GBS player. Mouser X over and out.

Some while back I got the PS2 game Fighting For One Piece downloaded, and I have a huge audio chunk which I have re-interleaved. I need to find the time to parse this stuff. PS2's ADPCM compression algorithm sucks, so it should be relatively easy.

I managed to parse a track. The way Bandai decided to have the music loop sucks - they just made it play over and over then have it fade instead of giving it any sort of real loop points.

It's in my PSF2 directory. (FFOP-2.psf2)

Did some work on Wario Ware Inc. today, and I finally got it working. Although it doesn't at all have the right tempo, it works.

Fetchez le test-track!

too lazy to update the previous post.

Wario Ware Inc, broken and with only 256 of about 500 or 1000, is up at GSF Central.

I finally got the PS2 devkit. I'm still hacking away at 989snd and Overlord.

In the meantime, check out my PSF2 dump.

Ahhh Freakin' awesome!!! You're ripping Ratchet & Clank 2: Going Commando! All of the R&C games have some great music. I've ripped all 4 Ratchet games to mp3 (what a pain in the ass that was).

Do you have any plans on ripping the other ratchet games?

I've tried to rip the Ratchet games using some audio rippers (like MFAudio and PSound), but most of the files on the DVDs are hidden :(

I *was* working on it. I still have the stream banks, so I'll get to work on it this weekend.

Also, I'm gonna need to start work on We Love Katamari since nobody wants to bother with it.

Lastly, Jak and Daxter has been abandoned for now. My notes and everything are in the "Scrapped Sets" folder.

Cool :)

Jak & Daxter and Jak II both seem like they would be hard to rip into PSF2 files. Most of the songs use several soundbanks depending on the situation/location in the game. Jak 3 and Jak X: Combat Racing are both streamed. I've ripped all 4 of those games to mp3 too (1 and 2 manually and 3 and X using MFAudio).

I also ripped the Jak X demo. It has different "demo" versions of all of the songs used in the final game. There are some songs in the demo not used in the final game and vice versa (There were also a couple of unused tracks on both DVDs).
