Did the game ever used sequenced music? I heard there was a PC version of the 1993 Mame arcade game and of course I've seen people on YouTube play it just fine on the SNES Classic Mini (which isn't really relevant to what I'm asking I suppose) but I've tried all the available VGM and VGZ soundtrack rips online and none of them seem to convert to midi.
If that's true I wonder if there is a way to obtain the original sound data from both the Mame and PC version to confirm, I'm not sure if there are tools to extract the formats from them though sadly.
Foobar2000 plays the VGM and VGZ files pretty well for me, so no problems there and the WAV samples would be useful to have for a soundfont but I'm really more interested in the sequences from the game, hopefully someone here with previously experienced knowledge can help with this and oops lol I didn't know about your new soundfont :P can't remember the last time I visited Glitchkill...yeah it's super dead there, I'll get it added to the list in a little while for you though.
Your welcome Mr.Sanic! Let me know if you ever update your soundfonts or links and I'll update them to the list.
They have the VGM soundtrack for Cadillacs and Dinosaurs on Josh's website here: http://hoot.joshw.info/!MDScene_Arcade_VGM/c/Cadillacs%20and%20Dinosaurs%20[Cadillacs%20-%20Kyouryuu%20Shinseiki]%20(1993-02-01)(Capcom).7z but I already tried converting them in many VGM2MIDI programs and no dice. :/
Hmm... That's weird search some info on google, should be helpful. Actually some MAME VGMS are very glitchy and messy :s Oh and i have a lot of projects to post on glitchkill!
You can't convert the vgm rips to midi since it doesn't contain the original sequence format. It instead logs the samples and sound commands. Use the original mame rom in vgmtrans since it's supported.
