Can MIDIS/samples/soundfonts be ripped from SSF and DSF files? by Excalibur624 at 4:55 PM EST on December 31, 2017
I'm really curious if this has, or can be done. I know some Saturn and Dreamcast games have sequenced music. It would be really nice if the sequence data and soundfont in some of these games could be ripped

In other words, are there any programs or methods available for ripping soundfonts, sequence data, or MIDIS out of SSFs and DSFs?

After intense searching, I've found an archived page with DGconv and SGconv. They're SEQ2MIDI tools that let you convert any DSFs and SSFs to Midi and SF2! I have not tried it out yet however, I will post results later.

On Windows 7, both programs seem to have mixed results:

Both programs are in Japanese, even the READMEs.

Sgconv is non-functional. Loading an SSF or choosing a folder destination crashes the program. Tested with Vampire Savior.

Dgconv is the simpler out of the two and works better. Simply drag and drop the DSF into the program. However, it says the conversion is complete, yet the files are nowhere to be found. Tested with House of the Dead 2, Card of Destiny, Shenmue, and Sonic Shuffle, all 4 games are said to have sequenced music.

The READMEs suggest that the programs be used on Windows XP and 95, so maybe they work better there

I would be very greatful if anyone could help out with this ;)

I've tried using "SSシーケンス MIDI変換 Sgconv" but with some .SEQ it gives me error like Bn 0x93, but other .SEQ works.

How to fix that?

Thank you
