Cubic Upsampling for Streamed Music? by MoldyPond at 4:52 PM EDT on October 17, 2018
Purely for experimental purposes, but does anyone happen to know if there are any ways to "upsample" streamed songs (WAV/FLAC) like the cubic upsampling options for NES, GB, Genesis, etc.?

Just curious to hear how it would sound.

have you tried kode54's multiresampler for foobar: https://www.foobar2000.org/components/view/foo_dsp_multiresampler

Welp that works perfectly :)

Thanks a bunch :D

It certainly does wonders to the Trauma Center 2 soundtrack.

May I ask why cubic?
Sinc sounds a whole lot better to me...

For DS music, cubic seems to be the one where not only does it make it sound better than it normally would, but with 0% innaccuracies that I can notice at all, having used it for about 25 games or so.

If you want something similar under XMPlay, use these output settings:

SRC slider on the lowest setting uses 4 samples, with each step in the right doubling the number.
And it really does sound best for low (11-22 kHz) frequency input at 4 samples.

I came back here just to complain that you're using XMPlay and that is wrong and now I'm sad
